  1. I try so hard to be motivated to work out in the morning. On the off chance that I am, I feel so good and energetic afterwards. But it's getting the motivation to work out and then go to work (waitressing, which is like a workout in itself!) that is so hard for me. Mega props to you for getting your butt in gear that early. I wish I could!
  2. I wouldn't usually post something like this in such a public place, but seeing all of your beautiful and muscular vegan bodies is the biggest inspiration in the whole world. I look at the pic of me on the left and wonder, why did I stop lifting? I was in such great shape. I am still at a healthy weight, but between getting a new job, moving in with my boyfriend, and becoming a foster parent, I kind of gave up lifting. I still work on cardio, but I need to look that good again. I'm starting a career as a personal trainer after I complete a course, and I can't be looking as puny as I do now. Here is me now .... skinny ass arms http://c3.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/52/m_47f27266594f460a946ef7c042b9d04a.jpg I've also been very focused on eating completely fat free, to a fault. I'm trying to incorporate healthy fats back into my diet. I also need to consume more protein. Right now it's more like 80/15/5 on carbs/protein/fat. I started keeping a calorie counter. I plan to consume 1600 calories a day, no more than 20g of fat (and that is MAX), and at least 50g of protein. I'm working slowly up to that protein consumption. At my buffest, I didn't consume more protein than that, so that seems about right. *fingers crossed* I start my personal training course in January and it ends in May, so I have about 6 months to get to my goal buffness.
  3. Thanks everyone! The one drawback to my personal training goals is the fact that I live in rural Ohio. I know a lot of people in the farming community, and most don't agree with veganism. Even more than that, most of them could really use a personal trainer, after eating all those eggs and beef. I'm hoping that with the election of Obama & some health care reform, people will be more interested in personal trainers in this area. Either way, I've always wanted to learn the most I can about the human body and how the mechanics all work together. hsorlando, that's really good to hear about people being open to a vegan diet. That's what I'm kind of worried about
  4. Hi! My name is Heidi. I've been getting fit since August of 2006. I've been vegan since April 2007. Being vegan is the best decision I ever made. Since getting fit was the second best decision I've ever made, I've decided to combine the two and get certified to become a personal trainer. I start my class next month. I'm pretty well educated in nutrition and health already, but I need that extra training to be able to help clients make the best health choices. I am so unbelievably excited at the prospect of helping others achieve their dream body, and hopefully show them that being vegan is the ultimate in health and compassion. Nice to meet everyone!
