  1. I second tofu scramble. It's one of the only ways I like tofu.
  2. Hmm, maybe contact these guys: http://blog.dallasvegan.com/ They post stuff about Vegan Drinks meet-ups and stuff, so maybe they could get something together. They posted something about when Brendan came to Dallas after his newest book came out.
  3. I don't find Vega or Sun Warrior nasty at all, but everything else I've tried I can't stand. I like chocolate Sun Warrior mixed with water, and vanilla as well, even though I like chocolate better. I like Vega best mixed with plain unsweetened almond milk, which, now that I think about it, would probably be pretty good with the Sun Warrior too.
  4. This article is awesome. I'm going to have to pass this on to a couple of people.
  5. Thanks for this. I started watching it and I'm going to finish it later after classes.
  6. Nom nom nom. That looks like the best salad ever.
  7. Whoa, two whole sticks of margarine? Sounds good though.
  8. Basically just a bunch of vegetables, some fruit, beans, a bit of nuts and seeds, tofu, tempeh, grains (oatmeal, couscous, quinoa...) and a lot of nutritional yeast (I think I'm addicted to that stuff). For some reason the program didn't track iodine. We didn't talk about B12, but I got a bit over the recommended about, as well as the other three in my group, so it probably didn't stand out as much to them. It should also be noted that none of these girls are really concerned with any of these things, so it's not like I was being compared to meat eaters who also care about health. That doesn't change the fact that according to that program, I got more than the minimum amount for many nutrients vegans are often accused of not getting, though.
  9. I'm in a lab group with three other girls in my nutrition science class, and we all had to track what we ate online for 5 days and compare to see what our nutrient intakes were. At the start of the class a few weeks ago when they found out I was a vegan, they asked about how I got various nutrients, so it was kind of funny to see today that my nutrient intake is better than theirs. They were shocked that a vegan ate more protein than them. AND my vitamins and minerals would have looked even better had I been able to enter my multivitamin I take occasionally and Vega (they weren't in the online software), but I still met more vitamin and mineral requirements than them. The professor was impressed. It made me smile.
  10. When I saw Avatar, one thing it kept reminding me of was Disney's Pocahontas. Foreigners coming to a new land for a precious resource, white man falls in love with a native, man comes to understand natives and fights on their side. Hell, there was even a very important tree, even though it didn't have a face like Grandmother Willow or whatever her name was in Pocahontas. I did like Avatar, though.
  11. When I listen to music while training it either has to be loud, screaming hardcore music or angry rap, neither of which I'm a big fan of outside of the gym normally. There isn't a whole lot of crossover in what I listen to in the gym and what I listen to outside of the gym.
