  1. Hehehehe... I must've done something right I actually LOST body fat over the past year! Like I can afford to lose body fat Of course, more muscle means faster fat-burning metabolism, so I have to adjust my calories accordingly, LOL.
  2. Thanks guys! And don't worry -no offense taken. I am genetically predisposed to being skinny. I got the beanpole gene from my dad. If I stop working out and eating like a horse, I'll be 134 Lbs again in a matter of a few months Ha ha ha ha! That's a'ight though... I don't let that deter me. I learned a lot about the special challenges of being 6'+ ectomorph with a raging metabolism from John Berardi and Michael Mejia in their book "Scrawny to Brawny", and I learned how to stop kidding myself about what it takes to really pack on the mass. Ever since I changed my focus last year, I've seen greater gains than at any other time in my life
  3. Yep. I saw that filth last night on TNT. Just about put my remote through my screen -then I remembered how much I paid for it Honestly. How long do you think it's going to take for this media-driven, macho, wild West mentality to burn out? Probably never will. How 'bout those imbecillic "Good cheese comes from happy cows, and happy cows come from California" ads? Who is the target audience here? Two-year olds??
  4. Okay, why not I update this photo every month, so as long as the URL doesn't change, you should always be looking at my latest progress (if the "Current" month isn't accurate, just press refresh on your browser) http://www.bjdphotography.com/veggeep/BnC01.jpg
  5. I don't see any problems with your form on that first set. It sounds to me like you're trying to go for deep squats, and are dissapointed with the depth you've been hitting. Personally, I think going any deeper than parallel or just beyond parallel is a bad idea (IMO). I think it puts way too much strain on your knees. I did notice on that second set, however, that your knees tend to bend inward a bit on the up-stroke. This is usually harder to control, the wider your stance, but you might consider dropping back on the poundages and concentrate on keeping your knees dead aligned. The depth looks fine to me. This is the same range of motion I've been using for squats and still seeing phenominal strength increases. You've got to taylor the lift to your body type
  6. He he he... Not quite, but I just saw it, and I am humbled to be in the presence of such mass monsters One of my pals over on DBB.com sent me this link: viewtopic.php?t=3525&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 It has never really even occurred to me to check out vegan and vegetarian bodybuilding discussion boards until now -in fact I started an MSN group called VegetarianBodybuilding some years ago, but it never got off the ground... I just didn't have the free time I thought I would to work on it In any case, I'll snoop around in the photos area for a bit and get some inspiration, maybe post a few of my own
  7. Thanks and a shout-out to my buds over at discussbodybuilding.com for pointing this site out to me I'm a 34-year old natural bodybuilding enthusiast, and a vegetarian of five years. I'm not exactly vegan, but I make that effort as much as my hectic lifestyle permits. That is to say, I don't wear leather, and I have completely given up drinking milk, but I still use a lot of whey protein in my supplement stack. Also, I don't really go out of my way to avoid eggs if they find their way into my prepared foods and such. I've been trying to set a positive example for fitness and bodybuilding enthusiasts all over the net, both on discussbodybuilding.com, and on my personal blog. For the most part, I've been amazed at how receptive people are to the simple truth that you don't have to exploit animals and shove tons of meat down your throat to build an awesome body If you really want the full story on my bodybuilding background, you're probably better off reading it here (and saving my from having to re-type it, LOL) I look foreward to hanging out with and learning a lot from all of you
