  1. I like quinoa a lot. One thing - I find it takes a lot longer than it says on the packet to cook. It says it takes 15 mins but I find it takes at least 25 mins to boil off the water (the packet recommends 100ml per 100g). Might seem like a small point but I want to make sure I'm not overcooking it and would be handy to be able to cook it faster! Thanks in advance for any help!
  2. Hi I'm 30 years old and I've been keeping fit for about 14 years, with a mixture of weights and running, but have always been slim with a pretty fast metabolism. I do have some muscle (more than I used to anyway!) and am pretty strong for my size, being able to comfortably lift more than my bodyweight, but would like to be bigger. I've been veggie for about 3.5 years and recently started using some of the Thrive recipes - mainly the smoothies, as everything else takes too long! (It tastes great, but I don't have the time.) I've tried to build more muscle in the past, but I tend to find that I get to a certain level of strength then hit a plateau. I think my mistakes have been in not getting enough calories in. I'm trying to change that now. I'm currently about 160 pounds with a resting heart rate of around 56bpm. I want to gain a fair amount of muscle now - not competition size - more like a 100m sprinter (not sure about weight target for this). I like running and recognise that I might have to keep cardio down and calories up to gain weight. Does anyone here who has bulked up significantly also do some cardio? I like my heart rate being low and imagine cardio to be a big part of this? Because I've tried before and not managed to get the size I wanted, I wonder if it's possible for me to get big! (especially given the theories about genetic types etc), so it would be great if someone with a similar bodytype could post before / after pictures and any tips that helped them do it. Thanks! Ed
