  1. Hey everyone, I have a question about dips - I have an elbow issue that will only allow me to do shallow dips. I can't quite make it to 90 degrees - am I wasting my time with this exercise, or will doing shallow dips still hep put on mass? Currently, I'm wearing a weight belt with 1 25lb plate when I dip.   2. I'm curious about this as well - I'm a kickboxer (Muay Thai) and over the past 4 months or so I've been doing a lot of power lifting. I switched to lifting because I had an injury that kept my from boxing but I could lift weights with.. Gained over 10 lbs so far! I now am in love with lifting, but I want to go back to MT. I lift in the morning and do MT at night. How should I change my workouts? My workout goes a little like this: Morning (day 1) Squats Calf Extensions BB Lunges BW Squats (day 2) Decline Bench Over head press (standing) Shoulder press (sitting, much lighter weight) Dips Pushups Abs (day 3) BO BB rows BO DB rows (support from bench) Pullups Plate Rows (machine) Seated DB Curls Obliques Two days rest, start again. 5 nights a week, I go to Muay Thai classes. With MT at night (a lot of body weight exercises working all muscles), am I over training? What's the worst that can happen. Will I stop seeing gains? Eat more? What are some recommendations for me based on this level of activity. Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the input. I've asked the staff for a spot before and were always happy to do so. I just feel so weird asking... just the way I am. I asked the only staff member at the gym today, and she had to get me to show her how to spot! Yikes. I thought for sure all staff members AT A GYM would know about giving their patrons a spot!
  4. Hi, I've come to ask what I can do about increasing my bench. I don't go to a gym with a spotter and I am shy and uncomfortable asking anyone for a spot. I'm at a weight now that I'm uncomfortable increasing without a spotter. What's a guy to do? More reps at current weight? Complimentary exercises? Thanks!
