  3. Mabuhay! On with the show : This garden snail is so big but i dont want to kill it though i see a number of them in my garden. Sorry mother nature, if i "accidentally" stepped on them. Actually, if i see a centipede or a scorpion or get my face tangled in a spider web in the morning i just let them be except for snakes or poisonous critters that can kill me. http://usera.ImageCave.com/surotswarovski2002/2010-359-19-35-48-1-DSC00151.JPG When i bought this at a very cheap price since i had a feeling that they just got this from the forest and as a "conservationist" somehow, i was not really expecting it to live especially when i was so very busy with work and other priorities. This one thrive on neglect. I put it on a high branch of my mango tree and i assure you i can only count how many times i was able to water this fellow. Since then, i put most of my orchids with "chamber like bodies" on places where it will not be disturbed and be watered unintentionally. Though i don't know the name of this baby. I am hoping it will really thrive under my care. http://usera.ImageCave.com/surotswarovski2002/2010-359-21-7-26-1-DSC00150.JPG as you can see, i put my newly purchased orchid again on a high branch of my mango tree. (the one with the long, small flowers) http://usera.ImageCave.com/surotswarovski2002/2010-359-21-7-26-3-DSC00155.JPG my usual blooming orchid http://usera.ImageCave.com/surotswarovski2002/2010-359-21-7-26-2-DSC00154.JPG can't wait for summer for this baby to flower in full-force: http://usera.ImageCave.com/surotswarovski2002/2010-359-21-7-26-4-DSC00158.JPG Have a Blessed Christmas and a Healthy and Joyful New Year to us all. 7. Mabuhay! @cold fission..hi there. yup vegetables and other crops have their own time when harvesting. if one goes beyond the harvest period sometimes veggies would taste bitter or hard to the bite. Well i hope you start your gardening soon.
  8. Mabuhay! Any vegan here that is into gardening? or orchid collecting....share your pics and tips.
  9. Mabuhay! Wow, I am so glad to find this wonderful website since i've been reading and hearing a lot of things like its really difficult to build muscle or at least to get your ideal weight and shape if one is a vegan. Even some of my gym mates would usually tell me i better start eating some meat like chicken for energy blah blah blah. Anyway, before i tell everyone my story, my name is Uly and i guess you know where i reside. I have not eaten red meat for the last 8 years then last year i gave up eating chicken. I still do eat eggs and fish but mostly my diets consists of veggies, bread, a little bit of fruits and lots of soymilk & sometimes almond milk (which can be pricey overhere) which i mix with cereals. My change in diet was encouraged when i underwent a workshop on "brahma kumaris" though i am not a full-pledged "member" some of their tenets stayed with me. I don't smoke or drink liquor but i am a self-confessed "COFFEE ADDICT". Before i changed my diet, i used to weigh 240+lbs now i am 170lbs. When i was at my biggest, i experienced some physical, cardio and thyroid problems. A big chunk of "discomforts" disappeared when i veered away from meat eating. To take my health a step higher i started gong to a local gym since September of this year. Though, i only have limited budget i reluctantly hired a trainer to introduce me to some physical workouts since i have no idea what's in the gym or just how to go about it. And according to my cardiologist since i slightly have some heart valve problems its better and practical to hire a trainer to guide/teach me the ins and outs of the gym. I usually workout mon to thur then sometimes in the weekends. My workout would only run from 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Somehow i am developing some muscles but my trainer always include abs exercises since i still have a waistline of 38...i stand 5"7 and approaching late 30s. Anyway, before i post some of my question i'll try to back read some of the threads here so it will not be redundant and a waste of space. Anyway, hoping to meet some friends here. Thank you and advance Merry Christams and a Happy New Year to all. Godbless
