  1. I am not really alive until I've been awake for a bit. Plant based diet has been going smoothly, made the transition and didn't look back. As far as totally vegan, I still own and use things from animals that I had previously, but always look for the cruelty free options when I need something new.
  2. Hope the break was what you needed, man, good luck getting back into it at whatever pace you're comfortable with!
  3. Hey Karen! I prefer to do them after I've had time to wake up and stretch, drink something, but before I eat.
  4. sore today, did a workout yesterday. doing 100 crunches per morning now, I love it!
  5. Thanks Karen. I had a lazy week, finally worked out today though and it felt good.
  6. Karen- I'm glad you had fun in the Caribbean! Been there once myself, it's beautiful. Mina- Hell YES Robert- Thanks for taking the time to check in! I'm doing OK! Took three days off, then worked out yesterday, I think I did more crunches in one sitting than I ever had before. It was over 100, and I lost count then flopped to the ground thinking that I was awesome. Focused on my upper body, upper back, arms, shoulders. Can hit the lower body today if I get time.
  7. 15 min cardio followed by upper body workout with three crunch sets too, today. Started with 20lb dummbells, was too light and stuck to 25 for the 2nd and 3rd set, except for triceps, and more for some shoulder exercises.
  8. rest day today, need to makeup sleep tonight.
  9. Ty Mina, I hope to improve soon! took today off, my gluts are nice and sore, stretched and did situps and pushups.

  11. A classy lady! Looks like you're moving forward toward your fitness goals well. I love the feeling of having sore butt muscles! The proper term for butt are the gluts (gluteal muscles), I believe.
  12. Mina: lol the transit system can be quite eventful. If we do hang out I will get you a protein shake as promised Jessica: ty! I will post before/after photos soon as my physique shows a noticeable difference! Hopefully soon. Mac and Cheese recipe, I used a modified version ( for lack of ingredients ) of this - http://allrecipes.com/recipe/vegan-mac-and-no-cheese/ I would suggest using coconut oil instead of vegetable/canola oil whenever possible. Edit: what the heck, here is where I'm at right now. I could only do two sets or so before my muscles turned to jello.. used 30lb dumbbells to start for all of them, then moved down to 25lb: warmed up with a fast run, stretching, 10 pushups/20 situps split squat L + R: 15, 9 squats: 15, 15, 10 stiff legged deadlifts: 12, 8, 7 calf raise: 20, 15
  13. did two instead of three rounds for dumbbell workout yesterday, then was exhausted. Body wasn't in top form, I think more sleep needs to be made up! Today I jogged a little and will attempt some lower body workouts and more situps.
