  1. Did it! Got up at 4am, out the door by 4:30 and ran 2 miles in 20:18. Great way to start the day. Off to work in an hour!
  2. Ready for my run tomorrow morning before work. I'm going to get into the habit of running early morning before work (unfortunately, that means getting up at 4am so that I can run, shower, and get to work on time)! So I'm heading to bed soon, got my alarm set, and my stuff all ready for me to throw on and go tomorrow early morning!
  3. 30 crunches, 10 push-ups. Rough day at work. Lots of people surrendering their old cats and dogs. Breaks my heart.
  4. 3 mile run in the cold today, with quite a few hills involved. Felt good. Also got to run another mile to the library and walked back with a pile of books.
  5. 40 crunches, 20 push ups, and at work I did a few farmer's walks with 30lb steel doors (for cat cages). Walked 1.25 miles home after work rather than getting a ride. I've got tomorrow off from work, so I want to get in a run in the sunshine!
  6. Rest day today. Lifted a whole pallet of 40lb cat litter at work today by myself (I work for cat staff at an animal shelter). That must count for something. I'm definitely feeling it. Bought some more veggies today: carrots, radishes, and brussels sprouts. Looking forward to making some good dinners with them!
  7. 6 mile run: 1:15:12. Not the fastest run ever (though my fastest runs are rarely faster than 10-minute miles except during a 5k), but it felt really good! Great way to start 2012 off well! Had a dinner of roasted root vegetables and a gardein chicken patty all cooked by my husband. Delicious!
  8. Alright. Here we go. I've been a fan of Robert's since I went vegan a few months ago, but now I've decided that I want to run a marathon in 2012 (already signed up and paid the non-refundable entry fee, so I'm doing it) and this new year's resolution challenge is just the kick in the butt I needed to get going! Printed out a marathon training plan for first-time marathoners from Runners World. Got Brendan Brazier's Thrive out from the library (along with some Dean Karnazes books), Robert's book on my computer, I'm ready to start!
