  1. Thanks Dylan, I plan to start one up (I've already taken a few pics) but I almost want to hold out until I have some progress to be seen. If that's not necessary, then I may get one going. Meanwhile, I'll keep hitting the gym and eating clean.
  2. Hi, my name is John. I'm 27 and I've been vegan now for 10 months! I've gone from 195lbs to 165lbs on diet alone and am feeling much better not being burdened by animal fats clogging up my systems. A little bit about myself... I've been a chubby kid all my life, not super heavy, just very soft. Never been into or any good at sports. I grew leaner into high school where I met my wife and since then I became fat and happy. At 5'10" I had no business being almost 200lbs. A little over a couple years ago I entered into the military joining the U.S. Air Force. I started running in the mornings to prepare for basic and got down to 185lbs which was a few pounds under the max weight for my height to enter. During the 8 and half weeks of basic I worked out harder than I knew I could and dropped to 170lbs. I felt great, definitely the best shape of my life. As soon as it was over I was off to tech school and after a few months of more relaxed PT, I gained it all back. My wife has been trying to pursue a vegetarian lifestyle for years and I had not been very supportive. Finally, after a serious discussion due to documentaries like Forks Over Knives, I said as long as she provides me with what to eat, I'll do it. After the first month of money saved, fat lost, and digestive systems fixing themselves, I was hooked. I've been vegan ever since and for all the right reasons. Personal health and environmental protection. I'm back down to 165lbs currently and it seems nothing I eat changes that for the worse. My problem now is that I've started to hit the gym and MAN am I small. There are a lot of monsters walking around a military gym and I am not among them. Worse yet, I still feel pudgy and can't seem to get rid of the body fat hiding whatever musculature I've got. I found the MAX OT workout plan online after seeing the "I Want to Look Like That Guy" documentary and am trying to figure out what to do in a gym. It's only been a week but I feel more lost than I think I should. It doesn't help that the bodybuilders in my squadron give me a bunch of crap for being vegan. The only advice I get out of them is to eat meat. Anyway, I came here looking for inspiration, guidance and support towards taking my body to where nature intended. I've been wanting to get into good shape my whole life but have always chosen the couch at the end of the day. I look forward to learning some things on this forum. This is a recent shot of me. http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/jj582/JayemDubb/johnwithhonu.jpg
