  1. Hi, I'm a powerlifter. Generally I'm 1-2kg (2-4 lbs) over my weight class. Which I am fine with - it's just more tactical for me to go down a weight class (less competitors) People I know that reduce weight before cometition do it by reducing salt, using herbal teas that expell water, and restricting water intake. BUT they also eat low carb 2-3 days before (just meat/fish and vegetables). I have a competition coming up in a month. It's not an important one, but it's a good chance to try out some stratergies. The difficult part of it is that weigh-in starts at 17.00 (and I'll be at work 11-16). I generally get quite grumpy when I haven't eaten for a while... So, any tips for me on what to eat the last couple of days before cometition? Nuts, vegetables and oil?? What do you bodybuilders eat/avoid eating in order to loose a couple of kilos (fast)?
  2. Heh, yeah I thought about that. Will do
  3. Same here. mine is from strengthshop and I've had no problem in competitions
  4. I focus on food. I try to always include protein-rich foods in every meal. Soy milk, soy yoghurt, quinoa, tofu, beans, chipeas, lentils, TVP. I use creatine, algae oil (for omega 3: EPA and DHA), vitamin d (i live far north) and some soy protein in morning smoothies.

  6. My name is Marte and I'm a girl from norway. I started powerlifting about 6 months ago, and I feel like I finally found my thing. I started working out when I was 20, to get ready for circus school. I did aerial acribatics for about 3 years, and when I tired (or mostly was tired of looking for places with a big enough space for hanging my trapeze) I just kept doing strength training and some running and swimming to keep in shape. I've been vegan for 6 1/2 years now, a vegetarian 8 years before that. I didn't really think about veganism untill I started going to hardcore shows, and started meeting people who were vegan. I was fortunate to live with a vegan friend who taught me to make good food without dairy and eggs. I still haven't told anyone in my club that I'm vegan, all though some people know that I dont eat meat. I'll let them know eventually. I just don't want it to become a big topic yet. This year I'm aiming to lift more and qualify for the norwegian championships in 2014.
  7. Squat: at least 220lbs Deadlift: 330 Benchpress: 140? I really need to work on my bench press technique, that's for sure. And it's sooo uninspiring to se guys race ahead while I'm stuck at 100 lbs. Overall goal is to qualify for norwegian championships next year. In order to do that I need to hit 65olbs total. I'm at 462 now.
  8. 220lbs after 3 months of training. It's gonna be exiting to se how much more I can lift this year. I'm 136lbs and a girl
  9. Last time I checked (about 3 months ago) I was at 143lbs. But I feel like I have a lot more in me, so hopefully I'll lift more in a couple of weeks. I'll be competing in the regional championship. My goal this year is 200lbs.
