Re: What did you have for dinner 12-25-08

lettuce with tomatoes.

I was assured my bf's mom would prepare a vegan dish, but apparently her idea of vegan is pushing the chunks of meat aside. So I ate lettuce and chopped tomatoes. (Not that I'm bitter!) :)

Re: A Christmas tree by any other name

I think Xmas trees are terrible and dumb... if you need one go fake so that you can resuse it every year. It would be cool if they had a more eco fake tree. Millions of treees world wide are cut for this dumb ornament celebration... so that we can put commercialism under it .................. I thi...

Re: Avoiding your family THANKSGIVING

I agree w/ Vegan Joe..... why don't you cook/buy some delicious Vegan Thanksgiving dishes and bring them with you? That way you are spreading the love! The issue is then brought out into the open in a really positive way. If your family starts to think that your vegan lifestyle is taking you away fr...

Re: Brad Pitt sheds his heartthrob looks

I saw a screener about a week ago.... it's pretty phenomenal. And Brad Pitt is wonderful! I wouldn't say he's shedding any heartthrob image/look though..... he's born old, but eventually becomes the prettiest person you've ever seen as he de-ages! I look forward to hearing what everyone else thinks....

Re: pet food - are your pets vegan?

I just want to say one thing about budget cat food. It's very high in magnesium and ash. I know you're having problems with money now, but it's important you spend a little more on cat food or you're gonna have vet bills on your hands which = more money. Cheap cat foods such as generic supermarket ...

pet food - are your pets vegan?

Does your vegan lifestyle extend to your dog or cat? (Or any other pet, for that matter?) My cat is not vegan, mostly because I am on a pretty tight budget these days and I can get giant bags of cat food from the local supermarket for $10. The only vegan cat food I've found is on-line, and is quite ...

McCombs' Life Force Plan - anybody know anything about it?

I've been reading about a diet plan called the Life Force Plan, which a friend of mine really benefited from. Has anyone else here heard of it? Or tried it? As a vegan, I imagine the limited 'Yes' foods would get boring (only fruits, veggies, brown rice, brown rice cereal), but it's only for the fir...

my journey!

Starting a new log, 'cause I feel like it. Current weight: 130 pounds Ideal weight: 118/120 pounds (I think--I'll re-assess as I get closer to my goals). Took awhile for me to get back on track (partly due to a knee injury- and partly because soy ice cream is delicious :D ), but I'm here and it feel...

Re: Prop 8 and the Real Answer

Too much of the debate focuses on the word instead of the privileges. But doesn't the word encompass the privileges? If the word "marriage" were taken out of the civil agreement and only applied to the religious bond, it would make perfect sense. I want to get married someday, call myself...

Re: Prop 8 and the Real Answer

Why is this the "real" answer?

Are opposing thoughts not "real"? Aren't they just opposing viewpoints, impassioned perspectives based on experience, upbringing, and/or faith?
