Re: Green smoothies = bad, according to Happy Herbivore

I didn't even click the article. There's nothing bad you can say about green smoothies. They're the perfect food!

Re: Raw Vegan Experience

Just push through it! =) Your body is probably directing more blood than usual towards your insides, instead of your skin, because you're losing a lot of weight (i.e. getting rid of lots of built-up junk in your digestive system) so your insides are working harder. Once you reach a healthy, maintain...

Re: Raw Vegan Experience

Hmm okay I've never thought of it that way... Interesting! But I think we're all talking about the same thing here, so it's really just a convenient term more than scientific correctness. =)

You're right, I've never "dexoted." However, I detoxed greatly when I went raw. :zunge:

Re: Raw Vegan Experience

Oh and yes, about the food masks - they're great aren't they? It just makes sense to me. If you're gonna put it on your skin, you should be comfortable with putting in your body. I think I'll do an avocado mask tomorrow. It makes my skin soft and glowing! Honey's great because it "sucks" t...

Re: Raw Vegan Experience

:D thanks SAR! That makes me really happy! I started the blog not too long ago, because I want to share the information I've learned with others, and it feels great when I know I'm doing that. I actually logged on to post this recipe for everyone: http://rawfoodlove.blogspot.com/2011/12/warming-swee...

Re: Raw Vegan Experience

I agree with Sheldon =) I'm in the market for a good raw falafel recipe, sans dehydrator. I found this one (http://www.rawmazing.com/falafels-the-raw-food-way/) so I'm going to shop for it today. Any other ideas? I prefer a standard garbanzo base with the traditional spices. Zesty topping sauces wou...

Re: Raw Vegan Experience

Try miso soup, it gets you really warm. And like I said, drink tea regularly. High intensity cardio for a few minutes will also warm you up, but just temporarily. Add spices whenever you can like cayenne, cinnamon, garlic, ginger and onions , etc. Try dry brush skin rubbing - just rubbing your body ...

Re: Faux meats as a primary protein source?

I would say use them not as your primary protein source, but supplement them occasionally. They DO have a lot of protein, and so it makes it really tempting and easy to get that extra 20-30g. And although Gardein products are mostly organic and what not, tofurkey isn't so great, and neither are most...

Re: Most nutritious veg?

I feel like my veg quotion is lacking some what in my diet, any suggestions? I eat plenty of good food other wise I HIGHLY recommend making green smoothies everyday. They sound a little weird, but TRUST ME, they'll change your life and health forever. I don't know what I was doing before I started ...
