Re: If you could, then what would you be?

Just because one person tired and did not succeed does not make the idea ridiculous. Sorry, I think my ranting made you miss my points. I did not mean to imply that pudz failing was proof that it is not possible, just anecdotal eveidence. If you understand that different sports require different sk...

Re: If you could, then what would you be?

- Would a strong man dominate in MMA? ... - As far as a WSM dominating in MMA, I think it is definitely possible (utilizing many Donkey Kong hammer fist similar to Brock Lesner) the only issue would possibly be stamina, but I could be wrong. Yes you are wrong, this is a ridicoulous question. MMA is...

Re: I demand a protein pancake recipe....

I go with the below, and if I feel the need for extra protein I make a shake on the side. Note that this recipe is for swedish pancakes so they are supposed to be thin, not thick like american style pancakes. Even though the recipe is very simple, they taste extremely good when done right. 7dl soymi...

Re: Shrugs, squats and deadlifts...oh mY!

How did he/she motivate this advice? If the chiropractor only gave vague reasons like "squats are destroying your back" without being more precise, I would go see someone specialized in sports medicine. A lot of health professionals have little knowledge about training and believe squats a...

Re: Critique my Workout Plan

My opinion: I would focus more on big compound movements and less on isolation exercises. I think it is much more worthwhile to take the time to learn the classic strength and massbuilders (squats, deadlifts, presses, rows, powercleans etc) properly instead of putting time into isolation exercises. ...

If *any* of those are your editor you are fighting the battle that time forgot. Almost everyone on some kind of unix has a GUI and access to nicer tools. For the sysadmin on some clunker box from the past who needs to edit a few lines in a file ne is so modern and friendly nobody would even bother ...

Re: What Type of Warm-Up Are You Doing and How Long?

I usually start with a broomstick and do overheadsquats, overheadlunges, presses, muscle snatches, easy shoulder dislocation. After 5-10 min of that I grab the barbell and do some combination muscle snatches, press unders, hang snatches, presses, front squats and maybe jerks. Usually 3-4 sets of com...

Re: Trap Bar Deadlift vs Barbell Deadlift For Gaining Mass?

Trap bar allows a slightly more upright torso so could use slightly more legs and slightly less back. However I think the difference is insignificant enough that you should do whatever feels more comfortable.

To me a year sounds long for a slight muscle tear. When did you last see the physiotherapist? If she can not help you might be worth to see a doctor specialized in sports medicin.

Re: Post your Squat Pics!

RC - I'm gonna try the plate thing. That might be like having oly lifting shoes which i haven't broken down and purchased yet. Might give me a better idea if i want to invest in them. Maybe a useful way of testing what you would get from a pair of shoes in terms of better angles, but keep in mind t...

Re: How do you pull through a tough workout on little sleep?

Are there vegan snickers bars in the US? I wish.... It seems wishes do come true sometimes ;) : http://store.veganessentials.com/vegan-candy-bars-by-go-max-go-foods-p2646.aspx The Jokerz bar is basically a vegan Snickers, about 95% spot-on! Trust me, I've eaten enough of them to know  Damn, t...

Re: Bear Complex Workout?

Ok I have a question! I just finished my first Bear Complex but I had to cut out the front squats because they were tearing up my wrists. The bar pretty much just sits on my bent-back wrists and not on my body at all. Is this right? Is there anything I can do to prevent this wrist strain? No this i...

Re: Training muscle groups more than once a week??

Agreed, bronco! great advice for beginners! Also, consider Stronglift's 5x5. Plenty of resources and support with plenty of success stories for beginners. Provides a method for establishing a solid base. The best way to begin , IMO. Ah, that reminds me, I would recommend the starting strength book,...

Re: Training muscle groups more than once a week??

I think a beginner would do well to start with fullbody workouts right from the start, I think a split program makes little sense. Focus should be on learning the technique in the most important exercises: squats, deadlifts, presses, rows etc. Resting 48h between each workout is probably good but no...
