Re: Fire Academy prep and food log

9/19/15 Turned 40 today. Was a chill uneventful day with a little house cleaning for some folks coming over later. I'm about to go out to eat with the family. We're going out for pho. Delicious. Am 3 rice cracker with pb&j Smoothie: 1 cup oats, 2 cups frozen fruits, 2 cups kale, 1/4 block tofu,...

Re: How Is My Deadlifting Form? - Videos

Watch this. I stand corrected. This guy is good https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jEy_czb3RKA Good vid. & funny to boot. Hams & glutes. I also checked out his channel & more of his vids. A helpful one on chest press. This thread's got me inspired to get back into more compound exercises, th...

Re: How Is My Deadlifting Form? - Videos

Respect. Yeah, I've personally not used a belt for years. But if I look back I do think if anything using one in the early days did help me develop good form. But I may be wrong, and I'm sure that wouldn't necessarily be the case for everyone anyway... & those articles you posted links to have s...

Re: How Is My Deadlifting Form? - Videos

Weight belts are not for protecting backs, lol, they are used to be able to push abs against to create higher inter thoracic pressure. If you use a belt hoping its presence will somehow protect you from injury your in for trouble. They're for both, in my opinion. And for other reasons as well. One ...

Re: How Is My Deadlifting Form? - Videos

Links need to be cut & pasted into address bar. Form looks fine in my opinion, but I'm no expert. Looks like you're putting the effort in. One thing I'd say, especially considering your recent back problems: Why not try a weightlifting belt for more protection? Not necessarily as a permanent sol...

Re: What do you like/dislike about this forum?

Hi, I think the forum is great. Great to have something separate to Skynet, I mean Facebook. There do seem to be a lot of individual 'introductions' threads, that kind of go nowhere though. My recent one included. No return posts = not a great feeling of welcome. How about combining ALL the introduc...

Re: Celtic Bat-Blog

Cardio today on rowing machine then cross trainer as warm up, then: Chest press inclines 4 sets, then chest press 4 sets, Then triceps extensions 4 sets, then overheads 4 sets, then 3 sets triceps dips, then 1 set chest crossovers & I was done. I wanted out. I demolished a bag of spinach. Cos I'...

Re: Celtic Bat-training

I started a blog/journal over in the blog section. I was wondering... Maybe all these 'intro' threads could just be combined into 1 longer 'intro'/check-in thread?

Hi, I'm a 46 year old from the North of England who's been infrequent on/off weight training for years with no real gains to speak of. I was vegetarian for years but kept lapsing back to fish eating and/or meat eating..... But more recently committed to a total vegan diet. It's day 75 today for me o...

Re: Vegan gains youtube

I've watched a few of his youtube videos, and I think he does make some really good points about the over reliance on meat and dairy in bodybuilding culture for sure. Trouble is, there's so much put me off in his presentations that I just don't go to his channel anymore. I'd much rather watch a peac...

Re: Xylitol

Yeah it does seems okay, and easy in the sense that you just use the same amount as you would normally use for sugar. Personally I prefer stevia as the one I use is organic ~ I had trouble finding an organic xylitol but I'm sure they're out somewhere ?! Good point. The make I've got at the minute s...

Re: proteins other than soy, seitan and shakes?

I'm working my way through a bumper size tub of Good Hemp protein. It's helping me make some vegan gains (;-)) but it tastes like compost.
When I get finished I'm going to try some Sunwarrior.

I'm just having half a spoon of the granules after main meals now. The chewing gum and mints are just too expensive
