Has anyone here experimented with making their own sprouts? How about going a few steps further and actually making sprouted grain bread?

I saw an intriguing cookbook today for half off, and I nearly bought it, but then I thought the stuff looked really labour-intensive. It had recipes on making sprouts - takes like 2-4 days- and then grinding them up and making bread...along with other cool stuff.

Anyone?

no experience whatsoever with sprouts. sorry.

Ive bought some sprouted grain cereal a couple of times, but thats far from bread making. I'm actually waiting for some breans in my fridge to sprout. Though i'm just goin to add them to rice not make them into bread. I dont eat much bread.

i have had sprouted grain bread from the store and oh my goodness, delicious or what?! It tastes more like a cross between cake and a muffin or something! But the sugars are natural, not added.

I've made my own sprout, I have this little sprout accelerator, but I never tried to make bread with them or anything. I should tho its supposed to be good for you.

I read about something to sprout in. Essentially a jar covered with a lid which has holes in it, not sure about how much water for the beans, or where to place the thing. I read about it in this book (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/189351 ... s&v=glance) which i've purchased just dont have it on hand

Thanks for the links. I was basically just interested in hearing what others had experienced if they'd tried. it's easy to make sprouts; I've done it in a pan with water, but then just ate them as is.

I purchased the book and this weekend will start the process for making my very own homemade sprout bread. In just 4 short days I might have my first loaf!

Hey, an update...I sprouted my own soy beans and then cooked them, mashed them and mixed them with miso, tahini and sunflower seeds, and garlic...and baked them as burgers.

DELICIOUS.
