FormicaLinoleum
Anyone had it? Last night we went to an all-vegetarian Indian restaurant (they have all their vegan dishes marked) and we orded aloo gobi. The woman who took our order said "didn't you get that last time you were here?" (how people remember things like this, I have no idea!) and she said she was going to bring us something special, assuring us that she knew we were vegan. So when the entree came out it was something that looked very much like chicken. My gf was scared but I assured her they serve no meat at all at this place, so we ate it and it was very good, but we still had no idea what it was! The woman came back to see how we liked it and told us it was jackfruit. I had never had it before, and it really was quite chicken-like, especially in appearance. So, if you haven't had it and want to try something new, you could try making some kind of curry with it. I think I will try it some time. I'll try looking for it in an Asian food store. SeaSiren
Thanks for the tip. I just located an Indian take-out not too far from me and I'm going to check out what they offer.

Xar
They have it canned and in syrup at my local asian food store. I like to eat it straight out of the can.
