cottage cheese?

it's weird, 3.5 years doing the vegan thing, but the one thing that drives me nuts whenever i hear or see, it cottage cheese. it is one of the things i miss eating. does anyone have a decent recipe for it, or a product already made? i miss cottage cheese with green onion sandwiches

I think there is a recipe in the Uncheese Cookbook? But maybe I'm making that up. I've never tried it.

I feel sorry for you... I've never had cottage cheese and just thinking about it makes me nauseous. Looks like milk puke.

Okay I searched around and I found a few recipes. I can't personally vouch for them though.

 

dairy-free cottage cheese (this one seems like it would just taste like garlicy tofu? not sure)

creamy cottage cheese - if you didn't want to use Vegannaise (which is delicious, but not the healthiest thing) you could make your own fat free vegan mayo...I've seen a few recipes around, haven't actually tried them yet

I'm almost 100% positive that I've seen vegan cottage cheese at Whole Foods Market. Next time I go grocery shopping, which will be within the next 3-4 days, I'll look.

They didn't have vegan cottage cheese at whole foods market. They suggested going on Temptations or Sheese websites. I could not find vegan cottage cheese on either.

I would suggest finding a recipe and making your own.

I once had a product in the US called 'Tofu Salad' that tasted very much like cottage cheese. I remember it had umeboshi vinegar in it.

Eeew! Whenever I hear "Cottaga cheese" I think of cellulite! Bleh!!
