Since I've quit the whey protein so far I've just been using Vega vanilla chai and chocolate powders. Are ther any other proteins that someone could recommend? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I use a blend from trueprotein.com of 70% rice and 30% gemma (pea). But you can change the proportions to whatever blend you like. They also have hemp there. And tons of flavours.

I like it because it's cheap. Unfortunately Vega is out of my price range.

Yeah a blend of hemp/pea/rice would be ideal. Pea protein tastes REALLY bad. There's also Sun Warrior protein, never had it myself.

Yeah, 100% pea is pretty nasty. That's why I like the 30% pea...I don't notice it in there.

i use soy since it's cheap as fuck and i don't believe the hype.
from time to time i buy some pea protein to mix it. never experienced a bad taste.
the only stuff i wouldn't ever buy again in my life is rice protein, the consistency and the taste sucks donkey boner.

Yeah TrueProtein is good and cheap. Shipping is a bit much to NJ, but it is heavy. I would recommend springing for the premium flavors if you don't mind the artificial sweeteners.

I don't think pea protein has a horrible flavor... it just gets dis-gustingly thick in high amounts. I was using 100% rice for a while but I just placed an order this weekend, going back to 70/30 rice/gemma.

You've got it backwards! :P Their rice stuff is too grainy, and the pea by it self is good but seems to thicken up in (soy) milk.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. :)

In addition to Vega, the only other powder I like (so far) is Sun Warrior. It's a rice protein, but I don't find it grainy like others are saying about rice. I don't like soy protein because it makes my stomach angry at me and I can't stand the taste of the one pea protein I bought.

Nitrofusion is what I have after I workout :drinkers:
I like this stuff, I've done quite a few repeat orders of it. For all those who use Vega, do you drink a shake and then not have lunch? Is that how a meal supplement works?

Some people use it as a meal replacement. When I use it I use it just for protein shake.

Sun Warrior(vanilla) has to be my all time fav. Taste & Profile is A+

Spirutein is great tasting(cherry jubilee and cookies n cream), but the salt content is too high for me most of the time.

Probably not the right thread to do this in but,
Who on this board DOES NOT take any supplements or protein shakes? I want to pick your brain and get schooled in your ways. Thank you.

I feel the exact opposite. Pea is goo in comparison to regular rice imo. I actually really like sunwarrior though, lacks the grainy texture of all other rice proteins i've tried.
