Here's what I made for lunch today: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ad_finem/4748264117/
Even my mum who's always very skeptical about low-fat vegan food loved them :)

Sweet I've always wanted to make my own tortillas.

I love making my own tortillas - they taste so much better than the ones at the grocery store that are packaged and full of preservatives and stuff. Every year for Christmas I ask for a tortilla press but I never end up getting one. Probably for the best, I think I would eat them all of the time, too.

If you make a big batch they freeze well.

Those look delicious!! Do you have a special healthier recipe than normal flour tortillas? If so, can I bother you for it?

edit: Oh, I just noticed the caption, sorry!

I love how the guy in the video says, "Even vegetables are good in these!"

Apparently you can use olive oil if you want, instead of veggie shortening. Also you can sub white wheat flour in and it should be fine....

@ Jason X: Thanks!
@ Jennie: I think whole wheat or spelt flour should work as well. Like Fallen_Horse has suggested, I used olive oil instead of veg. shortening.
"Even vegetables are good in these!" I had to laugh about that as well ;)

Whole wheat pastry flour works well in tortillas. If you just use plain whole wheat they are pretty tough though.
