Hey guys whats up? I am trying to get the following seeds into my diet...

sesame seeds
pumpkin seeds
sunflower seeds
hemp seeds
chia seeds
flax seeds

...as well as coconut, cashews, walnuts, pecans, brazil nuts and almonds. I figured granola bars would be a good place to get those foods into my diet but I have no experience making granola bars myself. I was wondering if you guys (or gals) had any good vegan granola bar recipes involving those ingredients. I would prefer it if the sugar content was low or none and no artificial sweeteners if possible, but these aren't deal breakers.

Also does anybody have and ideas for making vegan versions of these Kashi granola bars? I was thinking of trying to sneak in some of those ingredients I listed above into vegan versions of these bars?

Pumpkin Pecan http://www.kashi.com/products/tlc_fruit ... pkin_pecan
Chocolate Coconut http://www.kashi.com/products/tlc_fruit ... te_coconut
Cranberry Walnut http://www.kashi.com/products/tlc_fruit ... rry_walnut
Trail Mix http://www.kashi.com/products/chewy_gra ... _trail_mix
Peanut Butter http://www.kashi.com/products/chewy_gra ... nut_butter

Thanks so much in advance for helping out a new vegan!

Here is a vegweb link to the granola and trail bars section. Vegweb is fantastic for recipes!

Also, I love seeds on salads. I frequently have both pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds together on salads.

Thanks for the link and the suggestion! I think I can improvise on the granola bars now.

I eat chia pets!

If you get a vita-mix, or other blender with a dry container, you can chop up the seeds into a dust and put them into a smoothie. Far more effective than eating them.

You can eat the nuts just like that, whole, as a snack, choose if possible raw nuts. Pumpkin seeds are good with seasonnings like cayenne powder or Bragg's aminos. Almond butter is delicious on bananas. Cashew butter with nutritional yeast is like a cream cheese for recipes. Add 1-2 spoonful of sesame seeds flour into your tomato sauce for pastas or in any sauce it adds some thickness. Hemp seeds in everything (cereals, soup, salads, wraps, etc).
For sweetening granola bars use raisins, cranberries, agave nectar, maple syrup...

I was going to type this. I dislike eating nuts/seeds whole because they get in my teeth.
