Fava beans

#1 Postby vege » Sat Jun 18, 2011 7:26 am

Hey, I grew my own this year, and I adore them. Anybody eating fava beans willing to give some ideas how to cook them?
At the moment, I just boil them 3 minutes, fry them 30 sec in olive oil with garlic, then peal them and eat them with hands. The process remindes me of eating shrimps

I love them! I had this great stew recently that my girlfriend made with fresh favas from a farmer's market. Here's the recipe.

You can also substitute them for chickpeas and make a hummus type dip with them.

I like them roasted with a wee bit of olive oil and sea salt.
