Here is a good one. Obviously can switch up the flavors easily. I'm a chocolate-coconut head.

That 'protein bar' is only 16% protein, by calories. Show me a recipe with 50+% of the calories from protein, then I will call it a 'protein bar' :)

I've bookmarked those but haven't actually made any of them yet. Most of them are more 'energy' bars than protein but I suppose if you want greater protein content you can always throw in some protein powder of your choice and a bit more 'wet' ingredients so the powder doesn't make them too dry.
If it's important to you, you'll find a way. If it isn't, you'll find an excuse.

I do experiment with my own protein bars. I'm using powder though. Anyway, if you're interested, I've got two kinds I like and will definitely make again already.

Here is an easy one:
1. Soy or other kind of protein
2. Peanut butter
3. Musli (oats)
4. A little water

You just mix these until you get a homogeneous mixture and compress it on the bottom of an ice cream box for example.
Then put it in the fridge for a couple of hours, take the plate out and cut it to protein bars in the size you like and that's it.

The more protein you put, the bigger the percentage :)

This is a good idea. Have you found good ratios to use for this? I found this recipe (http://www.dollarfriendlymeals.com/post/20969448641/peanut-butter-protein-bars) but the comments don't seem too hopeful....

Well, I'm not measuring everything up to the gram. I'm usually mixing the protein powder and the oats 1/1 ratio.
Here is what I use:

12 normal scoops of soy protein isolate. (each scoop is approximately 15g).
12 scoops of oats.
2 scoops of peanut butter (it holds everything together, provides valuable nutrients and keeps the hunger away)

From this batch I get 6 bars, each containing about 30g of protein.
Of course, you can add something more, it is up to you.

I hope this helps :)

PS: I'm using oats with some dried fruits in them. It gives pretty good taste.

I made that this morning: it has peanut butter, protein powder (It's a vegan blend with hemp, pea and soy protein), oats and water. (Nutrition facts for each bar are on the picture;))

160 g. PB
50 gr. protein powder
30 g. oats

water up to reach the desired consistency. It makes 10 to 11 bars...depends how much you nosh while making them, LOL
