Pizza Ideas....

#1 Postby veganmadre » Wed Sep 07, 2005 9:45 pm

Alrighty, I've tried a ton of delish ways to make pizza...here's a few:

~Bruschetta Topping with Olives, artichoke hearts and mozzarella
~Salsa with Soy beef crumbled, green peppers and cheddar
~Deep Dish with Veggie Meatballs, Pepperoni and Soy Sausage & Mozz.
~Pineapples,Veggie Ham and Cheddar/Mozzarella Mix
~Broccoli, Green Pepper, Onion and Cheddar/Mozzarella Mix
~White sauce with Broccoli, Cauliflower and Tomato
~Artichoke hearts and Mozzarella

ON and ON and ON....yes, I have an incredible passion for pizza...really, I have a culinary pasion...maybe I should go to culinary school...OK, that's weird, I'm even hijacking MY OWN thread.

I like the salsa one, but i can go through massive numbers of chips and salsa. People have made comment to that effect.

You should go to cooking school! There is a cooking school in NYC called the Natural Gourmet Cooking School. My husband went there in their chef's training program.

I've been thinking about the pizza idea as a 'lunchbox' item for my daughter. I'm not sure how it would taste after sitting in a lunchbox for 4 hours or so though. I could put spaghetti sauce down, top with veganrella and then veggies that my daugther likes and fold over as sort of a calzone. What do you think?

My favorite is thin crust cooked til it's stiff, with tomato sauce, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, and olives - and no cheese.

Rene,
I think the crust would be all mushy. Try putting the sauce, veggies, veganrella in separate contaners and your daughter can put it together herself. Think of it as a healthy lunchable!! That usually works for my daughters.

well the other thought I had was maybe putting it in a wheat roll - that'd probably be tougher than pizza dough? I cut cut the roll in half melt the veganrella on each side of the bread and then top with sauce and veggies. I may have to just experiment.

Great, I'm hungry now and I didn't have lunch. That all sounds really good. I Have to write it down and try it some time.
