A belief system is something you have faith in regardless of the evidence. That's why all belief systems are equally valid. They're equally invalid. Therefore they're all deserving of equal respect. Little or none. Which is why simple human courtesy outweighs the value of any belief system. Even if a belief system is accurate to the way the universe works, it's still a belief system. I want to add that I think a person who grows is a person who constantly challenges their beliefs. That's not to say that you can't conclude that the beliefs you hold are still valid for you, but you must be open to questioning them or they become simple dogma.
