You want to look for not made from animals as well, not only tested on them.

I use Lavera hair gel - http://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/lavera-hair-styling-gel_1_161625.html , and also a couple of products from Giovanni, LA Natural Styling Gel - http://www.iherb.com/Giovanni-L-A-Natural-Styling-Gel-Strong-Hold-6-8-fl-oz-200-ml/6418?at=0 and Styling Foam -

http://www.therapytotakeaway.com/product.php/2446/giovanni_hair_styling_foam . I've also got BiOrganic Hair Therapy's Biogel - http://www.biorganics.co.uk/styling.htm .

All give a wet look and hold, but you can alter the finish depending on how wet/damp/dry your hair is when applying, length of hair and amount of product used. I find some products work better than others depending on how long my hair is, how damp my hair is and how much I useso vary what I use accordingly. Also your hair can get used to a certain product, so I often change what I'm mainly using.

Daniel Field also does a good wax, but gives less of a wet look.
