RIP, Jack - you were in better shape at 80 than most guys in their 20s and truly lived a life that was dedicated to strength AND health. A great role model for nearly a century.

I really am sorry to hear this news. Thanks for posting it.

I've seen interviews with him over the years and have always found him inspiring. He was doing athletic stunts in his 70s that many elite athletes would never do in their 20s and 30s. It never looked like his age caught up with him until his 90s when he began to shrink. Still, at an age where most people would consider it to be an achievement just to fend for themselves LaLane was still doing his daily workouts of tethered swimming and weight training.

Rest In Peace my friend

Sad day. This man was a pioneer for the whole popular fitness movement in America and beyond. We can learn a lot from his positive attitude he had about life.

I agree.

I was expecting him to make it past 100.

Yet, at 96 he was still working out hard and living his life......many people that age are happy just to simply be alive.

A sad day...

I have followed him over the years, heard him on radio interviews, etc. What an inspiring guy...

He will be greatly missed...
