Numbers.

Just wondering, are the numbers on the weights that you see on the gym machines measured in pounds? If not, then what? Someone told me it was just a random unit not in pounds or kg etc.

Most of the machines I have used will list pounds and kilograms, one on each side of the weight. Sometimes they will omit some of the zeros at the end (i.e. 15,16,17 for 150,160,170), and only once have I seen a machine that used random numbers. Those kinds of machines really frustrate people so they are rarely used. Do you have an example of a machine you use and what numbers it has on it?

The lat pulldown machine at the tiny gym in my apartment complex just numbers the weight plates (1, 2, 3, etc). It's frustrating as heck. All of the other machines list the weights in pounds.

haha my gym is really tiny too(but free :D).. but the lat pull down machine has the numbers 30,45,60,75,90 etc. Basically adding 15 units on each time. I suspect pounds. I can do 135 max on it. But I'm pretty weak and 135 pounds would be more or less my own body weight(I'm that light D:).

Yeah if it is going up by 15 a time, it'll be pounds most likely
