Discussion between Peter Singer and Richard Dawkins

Wow, I didn't even know about these interviews, thanks so much for posting, Robert! I'm a huge Dawkins fan although I run a little more touchy-feely and sentimental than he does. I'm not sure if that's better or worse but I appreciate the science and all the painstaking research he does for his books.

Awesome!

I'm a big fan of Dawkins and becoming an even bigger fan of Singer

I watch a lot of this kinds of stuff. It's my education in the background, or while totally focused, throughout the day as I go through my day to day business.

I'll post some other good stuff soon.

Peace.

Yes, that surprised me a lot about Dawkins. It really did, and he just kinda laughed and brushed it off saying vegan food doesn't taste very nice.

I love Dawkins, he has been a great role model for me for years, but I'm glad Singer jumps right on him saying he has an obligation to know how animal foods are made and that he should consider his own choices to become more moral and ethical.

Of course Dawkins wanted to steer the conversation toward religion, as he does anytime he can, but Singer gave him a lot to think about. He should have even been a little more aggressive, prodding Richard to take an ethical vegan stance and rise to that "challenge" as it were.

but Singer gave him a lot to think about

Yes, and this is key. I'll bet Singer planted a seed. Intellectuals tend to mull things over and over. I'll bet Dawkins has been thinking about it ever since. Too bad he doesn't hang out here--we've give him some fabulous recipes that would turn him in a second!
