GMOs

It is wrong to modify genetics beyond what nature requires, period. Its wrong in so many ways, I couldn't even count. I would hope that most of you would protest what I'm about to post, so why wouldn't you protest the genetic modification of plants?

These so-called-chickens have been modified so that they do not grow feathers.

"The birds, created at the Hebrew University in Israel, will not need to be plucked, saving money in processing plants"

We're all living in Amerika! Amerika! Coca-Cola, Wonderbra! (some of you will get that, haha)

Once we all become robots we won't have any need to eat any more anyway right? Thanks for posting, the world is heading in a terrible direction. Luckily more and more people are starting to realize it and thanks to the information age hopefully awareness will help breed consequences, responsibility, and positive change.

The problem I have with GMOs is: If they are just like the "real thing baby"

Then why don't they label them?

http://justlabelit.org/

I also don't like how manufacturers state: "Labeling will only confuse consumers"

WTF does that mean? Not all of us are sheeple & I certainly don't plan to make

Diabetes management a part of my lifestlye.

You can't even show a causal relationship in this single instance. Why would you generalize to all GMOs?

Because GMOs have a bad reputation, whether they deserve it or not. Consumers avoid them because of the horror stories. Why would companies want to add a label that will cause their product to sell less?

I'm personally in favor of comprehensive labeling, but I understand why companies would be reticent, and it doesn't need to have anything to do with safety. Just profit.

Labeling _does_ confuse consumers. This is partly because manufacturers are deliberately hiding the less-attractive aspects of their products, but it's also because consumers have trouble contextualizing the numbers.

People are constantly complaining about labeling:

Again, If it's such a great product "Label It".

I have the right to decide what I eat or NOT eat.

For example: I don't eat meat.

If a manufacturer doesn't want to label it as meat or change the name of meat

Does that mean I would become confused & eat it?

Of course not.

I completely understand what you are saying. But I think most manufacturers go out of their way to mislead busy

customers with false terms like "Natural".

The best a person can do is read labels, ask questions & educate themselves about ingredients.

I've noticed several nasties:

Most bread now has L-cysteine = human hair or duck feathers

http://www.naturalnews.com/032718_L-cysteine_commercial_bread.html

Tomato Sauce:

Spices= MSG

Natural Flavores = anything including meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, or fermentation products thereof

I could go on & on

We have already been doing this for hundreds of years; GMO is simply the next step in our agricultural evolution. And it's not going anywhere. The real question is how to make sure that we develop crops that are healthier rather than simply cheaper for big crappy companies to produce. GMO foods are great, but GMO companies are terrible.

We're all living in Amerika! Coca-cola, sometimes war!
