my hair just needs a couple more inches and then I am donating it all to Locks of Love. its for cancer patients who go thru kemo therapy and lose their hair, and want a wig. i think donating ones hair is a great gesture to help out others. it doesnt cost ya a thing to grow ur hair, everyone can do it, and you will be not only be putting hair on someones head, you will also be putting a smile on their face. I urge everyone to think about growing their hair out a lil bit. why get it cut off and throw it away, when it could be donated and help out others.

Excellent idea, man. I actually tried doing that a few years ago, but my parents insisted I cut it - and the length does have to be pretty long for a donation to be made. Anyhoo, I think it's a great idea and maybe I'll try it again. I have a lot of family members and some friends who are cancer survivors.

I like your plan Topher, I know we've talked about it a lot. I'm always impressed by all the kind things that you do. Not too many people (especially guys, it seems) do so many nice things for other people, animals, and the environment.

A while back, I had a pretty sweet looking blonde mullet. You can see it in my Olympia photos from last October. Once I'm done with my current job (that makes me keep my hair short) I'll grow it out again.

So if you end up coming to Portland and we end up living together or hanging out together I'll be growing the Goldie Locks again

Ah yeah, that's not. I thought it was longer for some reason ... and I think someone told me it had to be X inches when in a pony tail, so that took off less than I expected.

once you cut the hair off, tie it into one big bundle/braid/ponytail to send to them.

Hero,

YOu have the same spirit as did your Saint of choice, St. Francis, who not only befriended ALL creatures, but helped people. In case anybody isnt familiar with St. Francis, he was the patron saint of animals, AND he used to give everything he had (and I mean everything) to the poor and walk among the poor.

You remind me of him Toph.

If there were more people like you and others on this board in the world, it would be such a kinder, gentler, compassionate place.

aww thanks. yeh but apparently I come off as insane to ppl, because I spend my time helping others instead of trying to make lots of money.

ppl think im nuts, for wanting to live without a car, or own a house. but i try to shrug off ppl's negativities, and just continue being myself.

i think that you are insane topher, but not for any of those reasons!

its cause I climb and sleep in trees...isnt it?

Speaking of sleeping in trees, I recently came an across an article about one of my all time respected and admired enviro activists, Julia Butterfly Hill (although i dont know as much about her as i would like).

But what I do know is that Julia Butterfly Hill not only slept, BUT LIVED in a tree for over TWO FULL YEARS to save the old tree and the surrounding rainforest!! Now that is what I call selfless activism!! Ms. Hill has stated that:

"The best gift anybody can give to the planet is to go vegetarian, or even better vegan." Greenpeace could learn a few things from this lady!!!!

peace
