So anyway, Prince's neighbor is a Raw Vegan :D

OMG you MUST tell me more. Prince currently resides in Toronto, about 10 minutes from where I live. Of course, his house is all gated and stuff obviously. Anyway, was this neighbour his Torontp neighbour, or was he Prince's neighbour when Prince used to live in the States?

Did you know that Prince himself was vegan too (although I doubt he was raw)?

Last I heard, was that he lived in Minnesota. I could e-mail the guy to get an update. The guy is named Eric Rivkin, he's a raw vegan and I think he does presentions, workshops, and goes on speaking tour at vegan/vegetarian events.

Sure. please do email him if you wouldn't mind (I'll take that as a b-day gift!!) . What I would like you to specifically ask is whether he had any effect or influence on Prince's veganism? Perhaps Prince consulted him for advice?

That would be interesting to know.

I am going to hold you to this so make sure you send that email. I'll keep bugging you about it  :P

Famous vegan Andre 3000 and his baffling tail

Knight Ridder Newspapers
Aug. 31, 2005 05:15 PM

Andre
Benjamin, a.k.a. Andre 3000 of OutKast, is a vegan, and a famous one.
Apparently, according to the New York Post, the rapper and actor was
named "sexiest male vegetarian" by People for the Ethical Treatment of
Animals. But wait, what's that thing hanging from his belt? Why, it's a
genuine gray wolf's tail he picked up in Canada.

Apparently
opposed to eating animals, Benjamin seems to have no problem wearing
them. Never mind, by the way, that the gray wolf is considered an
endangered species in the United States. And it gets better. Benjamin,
currently starring in the movie "Four Brothers" with Mark Wahlberg,
plans to put out a line of clothing that includes the wolf's tail as an
accessory, the Post reports. Asked about the hollow hypocrisy of it
all, Benjamin said, "I'm a vegan, but I like to look good, too."

What a sell out!!! I am utterly disappointed and disgusted with his weak moral fabric and his shallowness.

obvisouly he cares little for animals and he is probably vegan for health reasons, although I wouldnt call somebody that wears animal tails vegan in the first place :? .

I use to be a fan, but no longer.

Is it a real tail or a fake one?

You dislike the guy's music because he's an asshole? Get ready to stop listening to music! :p I'd have no bands to listen to if I followed this philosophy.

I've never heard his music, but if he is wearing a real wolf's tail and using them in a clothing line, he's a heartless fool. Wearing stolen articles from murdered beings, wouldn't make him "look good", it would make him look like an idiot.
Out of my mind...Back in five minutes.

No human can call themselves liberal or radical or even a conservative advocate of fair play, if they contribute in any way to the pain and suffering of other beings.

I don't know the details, I just heard that info in that article and posted it to see if anyone knows if it is "true."

I will continue to look into it. It is always great to hear about vegans in the public eye, but it seems that not all vegan celebrities are "fully vegan."

If this is true about him wearing endangered species around, it totally sucks, but with media you never know what to believe. So if I hear more things I'll share.

Hey guys,

I too have heard about Andre 3000 wearing fur; that's really disappointing.
Here's a link I found about his plans to include fur in his new clothing line.

Hehe, Topher and I eat a ton of tofu. I'm trying to cut down on tofu consumption but Topher loves soy and so do I so we eat more and more and more! But I am focusing more on veggies and fruits these days as well as nuts, grains, seeds, etc.

Andre 3000 yeah, I've heard on a number of places he's wearing fur

I hope one day to be a famous vegan, and everyone will know I'm legit. I've been close to famous before :P I get recognized at fitness events, in some restaurants, and stuff like that from the TV commercials I've done with PETA and other TV stuff and the 5-10 magazines I've been in.

So if I ever get famous, I'll be a great vegan representative for the media!
