This is ridiculous.

To summarize:
"Lions attack and eat humans in areas where their wild prey has been reduced by over-hunting, deforestation and population growth. Older lions also become man-eaters because humans are a far easier prey than wildlife.
"Killing these lions would be the only way to rescue the residents in the area and prevent other casualties," the police statement added."

Ok - so humans killed the lion's prey and decimated their habitat - so now it's time to kill the lions???? What is wrong with this world!!!! Did it not occur to ANYBODY that the humans caused this problem, and more death and destruction isn't the answer!?!

That stinks. It's so not the only way. There's any number of things they could do instead.

It amazes me really, that the "LOGICAL" solution to the issue - given by police- is killing the lions. UM...hello! The logical thing to do is to address the issues related to WHY the lions attack.

See...i've lived in africa...and the way of thinking is entirely different than western cultures. So truly for them it really is the only logical solution. They don't have the luxuries that we do here and in europe...In addition to the fact that Africa as a continent faces its own unique problems.
