I swear I am constantly learning new stuff. Isn't it frustrating when you learn something that you have been eating isn't vegan. Pretzels for crying out loud. They put pee in them. Who thought of that? What is wrong with people?

I have to go edit my daugther's "What I can and cannot eat" list that she has for school now and feel stupid that I didn't say that before. ARRRGGgghhhh I feel really bad when I don't know everything.

Rob - you really should write an everything you need to know about things that stupid people put in food. Somebody should anyway.

pee? or urea?

urea is a major component of urine, but it's also largely synthesised.

i think it's an organic compound of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen, with the formula CON2H4 or (NH2)2CO

it can be completely sythesized form inorganic starting materials and is one of the first compunds that was synthesised like that i think.

How do you know if it would be (is - like by brand) synthesized? I was doing some uh homework last night trying to find a good list of ingredients to avoid to give my daughter's teacher. I found something about urea being used to darken pretzels. AND it didn't say it was synthesized.. it was on the ingredients to avoid list.

What list Renee? I have seen a lot of outdated and misinformed lists in my time. Hopefully this is one of them?
