Hello, I have been vegan for 5 years. I am 24 y old.

My transition to vegan was direct. Some readings from university and some musicians I admire were my inspiration. Health was not the reason, but compassion.

For now I want to show my progress of 3 months. Later I am editing this post to give me diet and exercise routine.

How I became fat? well... large portions of fruits, sugar in cereal (organic), and no exercise can turn you fat, even if vegan.

Have I became younger???

PS: If I didn't started this "wish for a change" and getting into bodybuilding I wouldn't have started correcting many things, in my diet, my posture, sleep pattern, etc... Please note that my posture, lordosis or forward tilt pelvis, has been almost corrected

Way to lean out like that in such a short amount of time! I am excited to read all of your posts. Pic Intros are the coolest

Amen to the out of shape even if you are vegan raw whatever. It doesn't matter whether you're a sad eater or vegan or whatever. Overconsume and become lazy and your body will show that.

Pleasure to have you here and yes you most certainly do look younger!

@FormicaLinoleum,

The first two weeks I was constantly aware of my posture, when sitting, walking, lifting weights. Lordosis or forward tilt pelvis is caused by muscle imbalance in general.

A good way to exercise is with light weights your lower back (exercise = deadlifts), quadriceps and hamstrings (squats or longes), lower abdominals (bench leg raises, focus in control). Of course there are many other exercises.

Some pages I consult were;

http://www.healthline.com/blogs/exercise_fitness/2007/04/what-is-neutral-spine-and-why-does.html

Here I uploaded pdf captures I made from websites, some are good some are not so helpful.

download http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=3aeb12dd6f1be4f4ab1eab3e9fa335ca31dbc022861f57d0

Plus, I downloaded illegaly the http://www.losethebackpain.com/ video. But I just watched once and never followed their exercises since I was already going to the gym. The exercises there are with no added weight in general.

I would recommend to do lifts targeting those muscles, and watching your posture all the time for some days until you see yourself doing it unconsciously. Of course I tend to sit in front of the computer with bad posture but immediately notice it. I guess good posture is not something you can completely master but you can always check it and then fix it.

Note also that your abs are contracted almost all the time, even when walking or sitting. You should be able to still use the diaphragm to breath since you are contracting the lower abs to raise the pelvis. Gluteus, hamstrings, and quadriceps are also contracted when walking or standing. Of course the contraction is minimal. Should not feel like you are posing in a bodybldg competition!

Glad I read this thread, just found out I also have a forward tilt pelvis. Thanks for the links I will get this sorted out. I don't think I've always had it, I'm wondering how this develops. I stopped working out for over a year and was eating junk food from depression, could it just be lazy muscles?

Good progress nobita, time to add some mass to your chest, upper back, shoulders and arms. Adding muscles burns more fat than cardio.
