I've been a vegetarian for 20+ years and vegan for 10 years. I've been a runner for most of my life but have developed a knee problem that now prevents me from running. I have always worked out but not to develop muscle. Now I would like to train and tone up my body that has become a little sluggish since I've stopped running.

I also need to change my diet a little. I know I need to cut down on my carbs since I don't do as much cardio as I did. I still go to the gym every day to do some type of cardio but not the intensity of running. I lift 4-5 days a week.

I am looking forward to this site for guidance in these areas.

Welcome, Jamie!

Wow, great to have another veggie here who has been vegan for a LONG time!

Cutting carbs isn't really that easy while being a vegan... but it is easy to get good carbs instead of bad ones. Increase tofu consumption, kut down grains. That's what I'd do.

I'm sure you'll find a lot of good tips here!
