Hello All!

I discovered your forum this weekend and am thrilled to find such a supportive, respectful online community. Just thought I would say hello.

I am married, currently a stay at home mom (for the summer anyway!) with one daughter living at home and 3 step-daughters living on their own. My family are all omnivores, and I do most of the cooking. I have been working toward making the leap- getting back to my vegan roots. Fish and dairy have been the first to go - just this past week.

I was vegan for about 7 years, vegetarian for about 12. Then after several years at a high-stress job I drifted into a rather unhealthy lifestyle. It started as a matter of heavy reliance on fish, dairy and eggs, "healthy" convenience foods etc then gradually got worse until I found myself extremely overweight, out of shape and quite miserable.

I have been working out with a personal trainer for over a year now, following a standard "clean" bodybuilding diet that includes whey protein, fish, organic eggs, soy, limited dairy and mostly organic, unprocessed foods. Lots of fruit and veggies. I have seen some good results, I feel great, but my progress has slowed. Thus, I am ready for a change. I still have about 20 lbs to lose. Lots of work to do, but I am very motivated.

So that's my story, looking forward to "meeting" everyone.
