wow..a forest. Ergo..Tarzan.

slaughterhouse. hmmm. Interesting...as we all have to make a living...would be interested in how that came about, as its certainly a unique occupation!

I have a great diet, as you pointed out a lot of vegans don't......been veg/ vegan close to 34 years...and like Sandra, have worked with peeps for years- training, etc...but mostly women as well...its YOUR thread. I wouldn't know what to do with meat, and at one point was told I would have the body of my dreams if I ate meat. I guess I will still dream.

Forest, eh? Clue on which continent?

Killing comes naturally to me is all.

I don't know if you're saying vegans have good diets because you do, or you agree that they do not but you and Sandra have a lot of knowledge.

nawww...a lot of vegans have bad diets...but a lot of meat eaters do, too! Sandra is also our resident, "Rabbi", so a wise woman, indeed!

I just happen to be one of the organic granola'y head types, and I try to stay away from processed things...and it seems MANY here on this site are more concerned with good nutrition as well. I work in the Natural Foods Industry, so, its a way of life, but always open to learning, and do a bit from peeps all over, including this board.

killing comes naturally...hmmm...like Dexter!

It is important to always remember there is a natural order in this world, whether you are a rabbit in a carrot patch, a lamb in a slaughterhouse or an armed to the teeth warlord, there is always someone willing and able to fuck your shit up. My whole life has been a process of coming to terms with that. Dexter... I don't know but it seems to be a TV show of some kind.

I think we can agree that people from any walk of life are likely to have poor nutrition, there seems to be a policy of misinforming the population regarding diet. I am always glad to learn from anyone who has a passion for health, again, from any walk of life.

Tarzan just so you know humans were never omnivores, only society has evolved into eating animals, but yet the human body has not.

Cool story bro.

Actually if you're looking for a discussion, humans do in fact descend from creatures that were herbivores with the occasional scavenging (as most animals will do given the chance), but that was our only common ancestor with chimpanzees and millions of years ago. Humans are not efficient predators, very true, but evolution has given us the ability to overcome that through intelligence and use of tools (like chimpanzees), our bodies have adapted in that time to consume the flesh of animals and through millions of years of evolution we no longer have the ability to efficiently digest plant matter. We do not share the same digestive system as any herbivore, we cannot digest fibrous plant matter and get anywhere near the nutrients that ruminants can. Any society that has become dependent on plant foods has been shown to be weaker, sicker and less robust than their meat eating counterparts.

I think it is cool that people can make the choice to eat only plant derived foods and still be healthy (thanks modern innovation!) But I will not believe that man has evolved as a herbivore.

did you even watch the video lol, we are the only so called omnivore on this entire planet that has to cook our meat just so the bacteria does not kill us, not to mention we cant stand the smell of rotting dead animals but yet EVERY OMNIVORE/CARNIVORE loves the smell of rotting flesh. Human society may have evolved into eating dead flesh, but the human body has not. That is why we have a HUGE health epidemic that about 80% of the diseases/disorders/cancers etc etc is all cause by eating animal based foods. You should really start doing some real research and see the REAL truth. Our so called omnivore intestines/digestive track is 3-5x's longer then every single omnivore/carnivore on this planet which means our bodies absorb way higher cholestrol levels then any other omnivore. Tarzan its just science and biology of the human anatomy that speaks the truth, the propaganda that we were all raised in is finally taking its toll on the human species. WAKE UP BUDDY :)

the human species has always been herbivore, and what modern innovation has society done to typical fruits and veggies that we pick and consume right after???

I used to eat raw meat all the time, I know plenty of people who do. Cooking meat has only become necessary in recent times.

Grains and beans have only been available to ANY humans in the past 10,000 years.

In about the same time all the fruits and vegetables you are familiar have been selectively bred to be any use to humans at all.

Dietary cholesterol is GOOD for you.

Just because our intestine are longer than any other carnivores DOES NOT mean we are adapted to a vegan diet.

You assume I am ignorant to these things, but I am not. You really need to bring more to the discussion than a few propaganda videos.

wow tarzan, then why are you vegan if its so bad for you???? You should watch watch Forks over knives, wich two doctors explain why and how animal based foods and your so called healthy dieatary cholestrol is not good for you and learn somthing lol. Also plant life on this planet came first before animal life just for your info, without plant life on this planet there never would of been any kind of animal life. look at your teeth in the mirror and tell me you can chase down a deer with your bare hands and tackle it down and tear thru its raw hide and flesh with your FLAT CHOMPERS you are rocking in your mouth and eat it. Come on, lets be realistic and really use that brain and think with logic. Cause you can't prove me wrong on this subject buddy.

Study anthropology for a while and come back at me. I've explained why I am vegan before, but you don't seem to be very good at reading.

lmao, ok tarzan I am so wrong, since cholestrol is sooo healthy im going to gorge myself in some steak and drink a whole bunch of milk from a totally different specie, since animals came onto this planet before plants in your theory.

Hi there! I don't believe that we are inherently omnivores, I believe we became that way due to lack of food, however, I noticed this quote where you said "I will not believe". I usually try to shy away from say "not" and "believe" in the same sentence, because that closes you off from new information and the ability to constantly learn and grow! Just a thought. You may consider being more open to new ideas, and not using a negative when referring to them.

Also, if you plan to have a well formed, well developed opinion on the health of a vegan diet, as others have suggested, you really should watch "Forks Over Knives" and since I'm sure it may not be something you want to buy, you can rent it off amazon from instant streaming!

Good luck!
