G'day

#1 Postby Corey » Sat Jul 09, 2005 6:51 pm

Hello, everyone. My name is Corey and I'm 21, living in St. Louis at the moment. Last year, I was introduced to this site and forum by my good friend, Brendan. And after not much prodding from him, I too have decided to join in and take part.

I have been a vegan for nearly a year and a half, and have become increasingly interested in fitness and nutrition. I have been perusing the site for some time, and have found lots of helpful and useful information. It's hard to find like-minded vegans here in the Midwest! This site is a rare jewel. Thanks, Rob!

This seems like a great community filled with wonderful people and I can't wait to take part.

Talk with you all soon,
Corey

Hi Cory,

Gosh your so pretty. Anyway, ya I know it sucks that we all live so far away from each other. The feeling grows even more depressing as your friendship with everybody on the boards begins to grow.

It would be so wicked if we all lived in the same city, or even better, the same block!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D

Oh the mischief....

Looking forward to getting to know you better, and your friend Brendan is hot.

Hi Corey!

Thanks for joining our awesome group! I'm glad you have found this site useful and we have a great community of vegans here.

Strange to think that I almost gave up on this website a year ago. It was during a frustrating part of my life, but guys like Topher kept me going and now we've had the site for about 3 years and this specific forum for maybe 12 months now.

Thanks again for being part of our Vegan Fitness Team. Enjoy your time here, getting to know the really great vegans and vegetarians that hang out here.

Take care,

Robert

Rob, What do you mean?

Rob, what do you mean you almost gave up on this site? I was very surprised to hear that. Thank God you never did because this forum definitely is an inspiration to many current and prospective vegans, bodybuilders and non-bodybuilders! I hope now you can see that you made the right choice in sticking to it!

P.S. Are they airing your PETA commercial anywhere? In the northeast? Out here in Connecticut I haven't seen a PETA commercial on TV ever, except for the SuperBowl one I think. The day that I see you or any other vegan speaking on behalf of the vegan movement on television will be a great, great day! Soon enough!

Yeah, during tough or confusing times I thought about forgetting about the website for a while to do something different.......but, I stuck with it and of course I'm just as much vegan today as I have been for the past 10 years. In fact, I'm involved with more projects at one time relating to veganism that I ever have before.

I never thought about giving up being vegan, just on leaving the site alone for a while (as it takes quite a bit of work with updates, features, answering e-mails, etc.)

But of course I'm glad to stuck with it and we keep on getting bigger and better all the time.

I'm glad you find it as a good resource and I'm happy others learn from it too.
