I'm new here, just a short blurb about myself I suppose:
Around the beginning of the year my husband and I made the decision to cut down our consumption of meat. We started it by going 'meatless' once a week, three times a week, until eventually we found ourselves not missing it and quite enjoying our new lifestyle. We've always been active and as a result we were lean-meat-and-veggies type people, but truthfully the transition wasn't hard.
As of late we've decided to take it further, and start eliminating other sources of animal products in our diet. Thus far we're doing it much the same as we did switching to vegetarian. It started once a week, a few times a week and so on.
I face a challenge every week doing my grocery shopping, we recently moved to a teensy tiny town in the sticks that isn't what you would can vegan friendly. I'm also not terribly familiar with substitute foods and frankly i'm a little scared of them; so the majority of my meals are strictly vegetable, whole grain type meals which isn't a big deal because those aforementioned type foods are exactly available at my grocer
Anywho, i'm happy to have found this resource. The local library hasn't been terribly helpful, and googling every single thing has grown old.
Looking forward to being part of the community!
