Hello everyone!

My name is Danny Stravers. I've been a devout vegan since I first educated myself on the suffering of animals in the meat/dairy industry at the age of 14. I'm an Arizona State University student, a musician currently performing with my band, For The Love, where I wish to spread the love for animals, neighbors, and the self (check out our single here ). I've constantly challenged my mind and musical skills my whole life, and I've decided it is time to bring that mindset to the reconstruction of my body.

I am 125 lbs and 5 ft 11 tall. I am definitely looking to gain some mass, ideally 15-20 lbs, and my goal is to grow strength and become more in tune with my body so I can begin acrobatic/tandem yoga with my fiancé. I've begun some yoga stretching and strength training to start, but I need to start lifting weights (I presume, unless there are home workouts that will help me build!). I will be working out from home almost everyday, and hitting the gym 3-5 times a week.

Basically, the best way I can put it, is that my goal is to look like Spiderman rather than Wolverine, lol.

- What should me daily caloric intake be, and what foods do you recommend mostly on a day to day basis? (and remember, I'm a college student, so cheap meals are best )
- Does anybody have a recommended workout routine I could follow at the gym to gain strength and mass? Also,
- What home workouts should I do if I can't make it to the gym?

Any other recommendations or comments will be very much appreciated :D
I'm very exciting to meet some fellow vegans who can assist me in the jumpstarting of my newfound passion for physical fitness.
I will attach a picture soon that I hopefully will someday be using as my "before" picture. Thanks again everyone!

Hey dude,

Well, I had a nice long post but it got deleted when my wifi crapped out. Anyhow, here are the highlights:

1. Focus on compound basic exercises (bench, deadlift, squat, pullups, miltary press, etc.)
2. Eat a ton. Sounds like you have a very fast metabolism, so eat up. I'm jealous.
3. Eat whole foods: beans, lentils, greens, broccoli, and calorically dense fruits like bananas.
4. Don't worry about the sugar from fruits. It's accompanied with fiber, and so it won't make you fat.
5. Faux Meats sparingly - but Trader Joes makes an awesome (and cheap) high protein tofu.
6. Sleep & Hydration
7. Get your fats from nuts, seeds, avocados - skip the oil.
8. Find a training style that you like, otherwise you'll get bored/annoyed and give up.
8.5 Some people like 5x5 for strength training. I do circuit training and incorporate full body each time, 4x/week (mostly)
9. Start a training journal! They are fun to read and write, and they keep you on track. I'll follow you, and we can trade comments if you like.
