Hey! Just stumbled across your log here... looks pretty good! What kind of competition are you going to do?

It's the local drug tested bodybuilding show, May 11. My coach used to promote thru USBF so i did that but he started his own federation, ANBF, cause he was tired of the bad experiences he has had in the years of competing (sketchy drug testing, judging, accommodations, etc.). They added a women's physique category but im doing the women's open and amateur bodybuilding. i guess i could always cross over to physique but ill see how things are going. I think it goes if you win the open you get your pro card. I was one place off of winning the open last time!! Thanks for reading... i was 121.6 today and a 99.5 fever. but i did my last cross fit class (squats, deads, and k2e). gonna do legs and cardio later. im off from work today so i might as well. my head is congested but my fever is gone now.

Hmm, sounds very interesting... clicked your facebook link and saw the pics. You have a really good competition shape, quite ripped!
Well, since bodybuilding is a rather subjective thing and there's nothing to measure like with track and field, almost every athlete will make some bad experience concerning the judges and the politics of the federation... i know it myself... ;) but you shouldn't let it bring you down!

I hope you'll get well soon!

Yeah i mean i have no issues with the way the last comp when down. the other lady was a better poser and her back had some more detail in the middle part...she had more fat on lower abs and glutes but made up for it with upper body. and my posing wasnt perfect. it could have gone either way. for my second contest not bad.

today crossfit was 3 squats OTM for ten mins. used 95. then deadlifts and k2e 21-15-9. i used 135lbs finished in 7 minutes
i still feel sick but i went to the gym (also went to ann taylor and costco with my mom - i always feel better about myself after a costco trip lol!)
so i trained legs:
leg ext for pre exhaust up to 85x12? about 4 sets
squats: 95x8x6
front rack lunges: 65x16, 75x16x3
leg press: 135x16, 180x16, 205x16, 230x16
calf raises on smith machine: 50x12x5
lower leg crunches using cable strapped to feet - four sets, was just fooling around a friend was showing me how to do them. can only do like 30 lbs they are super hard.
decline crunches with band - 4 sets 16
20 mins HiiT bike - (the lower one, thats recumbent right?) 30 seconds off 30 seconds on, level 22. didnt feel sick while training but now im all congested again and cant taste my peanut butter :(

Arvid back and Lauren,

I have to laugh at both of your profile photos. Exactly alike.

Arvid, too bad your facebook page is in a different language would have been interesting to read. I'm always interested in other vegans diet and training.

Both of you look great. Keep up the good work

@Comingtocyberspace: thanks a lot! Well, i'm thinking about posting in german and english on my facebook page, so it's a bit more interesting for all the people who don't know my language...

@jungleinthefrunk: you seem to work with supersets all the time... is it just to shorten your workouts? Or did you experience good gains with this technique?

Yes its to shorten them mostly and challenge the muscle and keep heart rate up. i have no idea how or why i make gains or if im even making them.
weight is steady more or less 121.6 but clothes are better.

soooo i had a chance to have a workout partner who really pushed me and he made me bench 115 for 8, and then 135 for like 3 or 4, he had two fingers on the bar...then some crazy drop sets....and then on the decline i did 115x8 by myself. and i also did 8 unassisted pull ups the day before. dieting for more than 3 weeks and making gains? wth!? we are squatting tonight!

food remains the same, cardio up to 25 mins HIT. trainer wont give me a cheat meal yet. also had posing class Saturday he says i did good.

Damn!! You're a strong lady!! B-)

A while ago, while i was preparing for a competition, i nearly trained without any breaks, to shock my muscles and speed up my metabolism and burn more fat. But i gave up after some time caus it was just too hard for my cardiovascular system... after every workout i sat on the ground in the changing room and felt really really bad, i was almost puking... that's a bit too much in my eyes.
So now i give my body enough rest between every set and try to keep the weights high.
Concerning the food: i don't allow myself any cheat meal, since i know that it will only make me want more of it... so i don't eat any bad stuff.
And the posing: well, i should really work on it! ^^ but i never had a bodybuilding coach. I do everything on my own...

im fine with workout intensity, i like it. my biggest issue is working till close to 8 four nights a week, i dont start training till like 815 and the gym empties out and ihave less motivation if its not packed. yesterday i did cardio and then foudn out my training partner bailed so i was pissed off and unmotivated so i just did 5 sets leg ext ten sets of squats and left. i guess its ok considering im allowed to take one day off a week which i never take. ugh. i feel like i have to start getting more serious tho.
