Wow, you are inspiring! Love the progress pics and the detail in your blog! One day, my friend, one day... and I hope I can be in the same state!

AArgh I am so confused. Ive been lifting for a year, Concentrating on bulking for about a month (well at least serioulsy with protein powders and considering stopping my running routine). I weigh 134 now. So maybe I'll get up to 145 by December (maybe??), and then to compete in March get down to 125-130?? I really have no idea. I'm gonna do something with NJ NPC...what category have you competed in? how did it go? please, when it's time, share how you cut, because i really need to do my proper research. I lost 50 lbs of fat over the past 1.25 years, but that was a slow loss.....ive never done anything like this before.

And what would you consider "Loads of calories?"

Congrats on loosing 50 lbs of fat! That's flippin' awesome! Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you further! (I know it can be very confusing.) Just trying to keep you from making some of the mistakes I made my 1st go around. I never actually legitimately bulked before my figure comp but I did cut my calories too much too quick, literally overnight and never really changed it in the weeks leading up to my comp- ruining my metabolism! ( I got down to 123...yea, I'm 5'8" NOT GOOD!!). Just think about the difference in weight, would it be considered healthy to loose 20 lbs in 12 weeks? (again, not an expert so I'm not really sure). For my next comp I'm trying to weigh around 145-140 (I'm now 150)...staying within 5 to 10 lbs from my comp weight. When I cut I changed how much and what I was eating and changed my cardio up. My comp didn't go as great as I had hoped (best placing was 6th in Novice). But again, I never bulked and cut too soon too fast (it was truly unhealthy)!

with how dedicated you are, I am sure you will have no problem figuring it out! :D There is all kinds of good info out there- just googling 12 week cut will get you more than you ever wanted to know. Hopefully another (more experienced) figure competitor will chime in...or a bodybuilder.

Ps By "loads of calories" I mean more than is required for weight maintenance.

No problem :D Again, sorry I wasn't more helpful. I've been finding it's all about experimenting and figuring out what works best for you. I can relate to the fear of being fat again! I'm only 13 lbs shy of my heaviest point, though I didn't have an ounce of muscle on me at that point either.

Btw, love your blog! there are some weird people out there, can't believe some of the messages you've gotten

No cardio for the last four days....also have not been eating clean until today. I wish I knew how many calories I'm supposed to eat when bulking!

Today was chest day
Incline Dumbbell Presses: 20lbsx16, 35x12, 40x8, 40x8, 40x8, 35x12 (I couldn't get the 40s up for the last set...once I get them up though its fairly easy, surprisingly, first time I tried it)
Flat Dumbbell Presses: 35x12, 40x8x4
Incline Flyes: 20lbsx16, 25lbsx12, 30x8x3
Superset of Decline Dumbell Presses, Flyes, and Situps
Presses: 35x8x5
Flyes: 20lbsx8x5
Situps: 25lbsx16x5

Cable Flyes: 50lbs each side x10x3, then 9, then 8
I had snuck in some planks (4x60 seconds each) throughout the day

Yesterday was back. I also did some random ab routine that i foundon the internet in the morning, nothing too difficult.

Dumbbell Rows: 45x12, 50x10, 55x8, 60x8, 60x7
T-bar Rowe: 45x16, 70x8x4
Isolateral Row: 45 each side x16, 70x10, 75x8, 80x8x2
Wide Grip Pull Downs: 70lbsx16, 80x13, 90x10, 110x8x2 (not great form, its hard for me to pull the bar all the way to my chest as I progress!!)
Smith Rows: 70lbsx8x5
Isolateral High Row: 45lbs each side x 12, 55x8x4

I should note that my forearms are feeling wrecked today from all that gripping...and i ran into a door in the dark at 5am getting up to feed my cats lol. My elbow is in some serious pain.

Feel Free to critique what I ate today (LOOKING FOR ADVICE ON NUMBER OF CALS FOR A BULKING GAL!!!! and whether or not I should still do some cardio or not....there seems to be no concensus anywhere!)

Food Calories:
2,519 (might be like 200 more if i have toast) , and ignore the breakfast, lunch, and dinner thing cause I basically eat every hour lol!

I have a huge migraine and yesterday I couldn't post because the damn internet went out. Yesterday was bis, tris, and abs. 20 sets on tris, 20 on bis. Nothing really too significant. Today was legs. Lunges 70x7each legx3. I pulled my butt muscle on a warm up to the lunges, kept going, did hack squats, leg presses, ham curls, quad exts, and calf presses. I really cant deal with this migraine so im not writing details. not sure if its cause i gave up my coffe in the am, or becuase ive upped my calories or what. im definitely not dehydrated cause i drank 6 plus liters of water today. i dont know but i dont like it. i also ran 5.6 this morning. oh and my new job is taking a toll on me :(

Oh, and the past two days I've been eating about 3200 calories. I eat like every hour and feel fat....(I definitely have always had issues with food so this is kind of weird), but this is what they say to do when bulking!

OK so today I weigh 137.6 and my body fat is 17.8/17.9 according to my unreliable scale and body fat monitor. If by any chance they are trust worthy, I gained weight and lost fat, despite eating like mad and decreasing my cardio. Still always feel fat and gross...
