Better late than never, eh? Finally got all my username/e-mail/password issues resolved with a little bit of time devoted to doing same. I'm in the process of getting a new website which should be up and live by next week. Sorry I haven't been able to post here till now...just a little busy with my own book, "Eat Vegan on $4 a Day," and getting a second book proposal submitted last week. I don't know how much I'll be able to post here since I have a marketing/IT/author department of 1. :psycho: And I haven't quit my day job as a personal trainer/high school cross country coach just yet. It is peak snow-bird tourist season here from January-April. Many gyms depend on this time to make enough income to support them through the rest of the year when tourists are not here in the numbers they are now. As a result, I have 3X as many clients now as I do during the rest of the year. Alritey, enough excuses.

I'm coming off the second worst running injury I've had. About a month ago I had an inopportune meeting with an unmarked speed bump at a crowded 5/1 miler. 2 different races going in 2 different directions and runners were looking out for that, not down. My friend/physical therapist was adamant I should have broken my elbow, knee, and toe, but I'm adamant a vegan calcium-rich plant diet saved me from that. I have a YouTube video about that. As a result, I haven't been running long or hard at all. At a 5 miler last weekend that I did, two people tripped over speed speed-bumps, and one was taken to the hospital by ambulance during the race. I'd never seen that before. It is peak race season in Florida now. Next weekend is a 5K that starts 1 mile away. I'm still feeling pain in my knee which my friend/PT says is probably a bone bruise that will take awhile to heal.

When people ask me how I did at a race, I always say, "I finished without injury." I really admire runners in the grand/veteran grand masters age groups. My goal is to run until 100, to quote the Jeff Galloway book. Working as a personal trainer at a gym, I see people daily coming in who say, "I used to be a runner." I don't want to be one of those, I hope.

Today's training was a 4 miler along the beach of SW Florida, where I try to run as often as possible. It was a crushed shell/asphalt surface. Because I've had a stress fracture of the 3rd metatarsal arch about 5 years ago (trying to run barefoot--thought I was doing it right--not) and other issues, I really try to run on soft surfaces for training runs saving concrete/asphalt for group runs or races.

I'm enjoying coaching the New You participants. I hope you all are enjoying this too. It's such a unique opportunity to join the community and get a great deal of support.

Thanks so much for being here, Ellen!

I've heard wonderful things about you from the people you're working with.

Great seeing you on tour this year and congratulations on all the success your book has achieved!

Thank you again for all your support, kind words and great work.

All the best!

Robert
