Getting out of bed early was a real chore today. But, I started a pot of coffee first and jumped on the tread with the thought of just getting through it and I could have a cup.

It worked. Really really, hard interval training on tread, AM

Abs

I didn't have my protein shake after work out the last few have made me sick. So I'm going to try a different protein, perhaps I have "suddenly" developed resistance to soy.

Note to self regarding lifting yesterday: Wash hands thoroughly after tanning and before lifting without gloves, or said tanning lotion on hands is a tad slippery. Disaster was barely averted

In the past, getting out of bed early was a chore for me too.

Until I gave up coffee and other caffeinated beverages.

I would drink four to six 32 oz mugs of coffee / pop per day.

The first couple days were difficult with the withdrawal symptoms.

Now I'm glad I gave them up.

Yesterday afternoon:

Chest, Shoulders, Triceps 15-10-5 (reps of 5 are heavy) Supersetting

Barbell Bench Press

Seated Dumbell Press

Tricep Kickbacks

Lateral Raises

Tricep Pushdowns

Today: Rest Day

My sister turned 40 today and is having a really bad day. I couldn't imagine being 40 and bedridden in a fullcare hospital at 40 (stroke), and possible for the rest of her life. It really makes me think and keeps me on track.

I'm still going even if I haven't had time to post

Over a week down, no losses, no gains....no change. Will have to crank is up another notch this week. I have a business promo and will be in beach wear / bikini most of the time, darn camera adds another 10 lbs and I only have 10 days left.

Hold on here we go.... weeeee.......

Do you already do this?

- Drink green tea - it helps burn fat. Best before cardio, and in between. Still have water, though!

- Small meals!

- Less carbs, especially simple carbs!

Workout wise, i still advocate to workout heavy as often as possible with compound movements and no or very little isolation work. That means, wholebody workouts or 2-split, squats, deads, dips, rows etc.

Cardio best in the morning, but whenever you can is fine. Just don't waste your whole energy on cardio - the weights get the fat off better.

Good luck, and post some pictures!

Yep, I am doing that.

went tanning today then,

Hard core cardio on treadmill.

I took pics just after, so I'm really "glowing" in them. But my camera was exhaused so I can't upload them until I grab my extra battery from work.

Only got calf machine shots, but I will have some taken while lifting tonight.

Ate clean all day.

I lifted heavy last eve (late afternoon).

Slept terrible, in fact hardly at all. I made myself lay in bed all night, thinking at least I was resting my body. Couldn't take it anymore at 6AM and got up.

Very tired, so light cardio on tread this morning.

Heavy workout this eve:

Bench Press

Pull ups (this was a bit of a joke )

Squats

Upright Rows

Crunches

It went up to 106F with the heat index today (that's 41C) and VERY humid (ladies' don't try to wear curls here, it'll look a mess as soon as you hit the air). If anyone follows this, my set-up is on a screened in deck. During the winter I shut it in because I really ,really hate the cold, and I am a whimp. So today was interesting. I was "glowing" before I got started, but really enjoyed the weather fortunately by the time I went to work out it was down to 100F (38C). So I didn't feel the need to turn on the ceiling fan.

When a friend from Guatemala was asked today if it was ever that hot there, he replied (insert heavy accent here ) "No, no dis haut in Guatemala, EVER!".

Still on track so to speak but with a bit of a snag. Lost my voice the other day, sore throat the next, fever and congestion today cough all days. I hope I get through this quickly!

So not time to post everyday, but still working out. Found my camera cord so here's the pics my daughter took. Right off the tread sorry thy aren't great, but this is what I have.

I CAN NOT reduce my gut, this is my problem area and this would be the "before" pics, so here we go (please be kind this is REALLY a sensitive subject for me). OK, *deep breath*, little make-up "glowing" and carrying too much body fat with amatuer pics...here we go:

My workout room is on my screened back deck (not too much room).

My daughter made the "bell" out of pottery hanging on the light, in case you were wondering.

There's the gut! Remind me not to sit down in public.

Calf machine, the boards behind me go over some of the screened areas during the winter. Since I have no storage, that's where they go during the summer (additional freezer for food storage behind that). Just don't want everyone to think my house is a total mess!

OK, so that's what I have to work with right now. So time to bust ass and get my act together!

I think you look great Cool to see training pics and to see your training area as well. Looks like a nice set-up.

I hope you are feeling better soon. I knew you were losing your voice last week but I didn't know it led to other things.

Water, sleep, rest, juice, those things tend to help me when that happens. I know your schedule may not allow for all of those things, but I hope you recover quickly.

All the best, see you in a few weeks. We can train together, along with VeganEssentials and others in D.C.

Cardio and weights today, was ill after workout, but than again I had a fever yesterday. So, hopefully that's the last of it.

Just over two week weigh in...drumroll please...nothing, no loss, no gain, just the same.

Raising water and fiddling around with diet a bit. I leave Thursday, so not much time left.

Chillaxz, ab region looks fine to me, you don't want ribs sticking out and shit do you? You're in good shape. Everybody's skin folds when they sit down, that doesn't mean you have a 'gut'!

Bench Press

Pull ups

Squats

Upright Rows

Crunches

No weightloss since the beginning but under a lot of job stress right now so I took it out on the weights. Got another 10lbs on the Bench, Squats and Rows. So apparently I am doing something after all.

Littlest one has what I had now and was running a fever all day. I am supposed to leave Thurs morning. I hope she is well by then or I won't go.

  • 4 weeks later...
I hope things are continuing to go well for you in your training.

Ahhh, so people do read these logs.

Thanks for checking up on me VG! Training has been going really, really well. I'll post more this week, as I am updating my routine since the conference.

But I'm off to the beach tomorrow, so most likely no workout (the beach makes me sleepy). Hope it's not the last beach day this year.
