11 Nov 2014 - Tues

Had an awesome yet frosty hike early this morning with my dogs :)

Bench: warm ups, 6 x 105 lbs, 115 lbs, 115 lbs, 115 lbs

Cable Tri: 10 x 70, 8 x 80, 80 lbs

Cable Row: 10 x 70, 8 x 80, 80 lbs

One-arm DB Press: 7 x 45 lbs, 5 x 55 lbs, 4 x 55 lbs

Random abs

Pressing is still weak sauce, but I was able to get that comp weight of 55 lbs a few times!

14 Nov 2014 - Fri

Kettle Bell Swings: 20 x 32 lbs, 50 lbs, 65 lbs, 80 lbs

Climbing

Was going to be a squat day, but hips hurt. Only at full parallel though so opted for a few KB swings and some climbing instead :)

21 Nov. 2014 - Friday
Just wanted to make a quick update. I had some laparoscopic surgery yesterday on my lady parts (if you want TMI, sorry) so I am out from lifting for a couple weeks. I'm not bed ridden or anything and I can go about "normal activities", but right now I am too sore to do much for too long. And don't these doctors know that "normal activity" for me is hitting the gym and moving heavy stuff around? I have a feeling they don't mean that.

This is also the first time I've felt disadvantaged being vegan. They puff up your abdomen with CO2 so they can move the scopes around and see what's going on. When I came to, my doctor told me that my body fat is too low so the gas escaped a bit and is moving around my shoulders and putting some pressure on my lungs. I guess body fat usually prevents it from escaping the abdomen area! Hurts worse than the incisions. She said it would take a few days for my body to absorb the excess gas and I can't wait. Ouch!

Also, I did start this week with yoga and doggie hikes too, but not much lifting as I figured I'd take this surgery as an excuse for some downtime from lifting. I always do better if I take a few weeks completely off per year.

SLDL: 10 x bar, 95 lbs, 135 lbs

12 Dec 2014 - Fri

Bnch: 10 x bar, 75 lbs, 95 lbs, 5 x 105 lbs, 105 lbs, 105 lbs

Rope Tri: 3 x 10 x 70 lbs

Dips: 5, 6, 6 - at least these are easier since I've dropped 10 lbs (all muscle :( ) since surgery

Weak sauce, and I still feel like crap. A little discouraging but I'm trying to stay positive. Why can't a kick ass vegan coach live near me to work with me thru all my crap? :)

Do you climb at a rock gym? Bouldering?

Hi C.O., yeah, I climb at a bouldering gym. I don't have a lot of friends who climb, so rope climbing is more difficult. I can boulder any time by myself though. My climbing gym also has a decent weights area so that is where I lift mostly as well. It's awesome, two gyms for the price of one! :)
