Winter Cardio

#1 Postby aurovon » Thu Nov 17, 2005 3:03 pm

Ahh, the winter has arrived and it's tough to run outside. So, what do you do? Do you not do cardio in winter? Or if you do is it in the gym? With what equipment? Elliptical? Rowing machine? Stair master? Bike? treadmill? etc?

Have you experimented with all of them? which one gives you the best results?

Any input would be lovely. Cheers!

hehe! the winter cardio that i am doing exclusively at the moment is body boarding in the north sea! its 12degree water (55 degrees fahrenheit) and i wear a wetsuit. i spend about 1 1/2 hours in the sea, and its great fun. i imagine that it burns a fair few calories, which isnt good, but then it is fabulous fun!!

Run faster.

It'll make you warmer.

By the way that applies to all seasons. The reasoning changes but basically it's run faster :)

For Asthmatics like me, that is something you really want to avoid. If you are asthmatic and have no other choice, put a handkerchef on your mouth so that the air stays warm.
