 Post subject: Is it harder to cut on a Vegan Diet ?

I am asking cause I had this discussion with somebody and it made me think. Even before going Vegan I was staying away from saturated fat. But still something like Tuna fish doesn't have any carbs and very lil fat, while it has lots of protein (I am not taking into account all the crap it has in it I know, that's not the issue).
Most of the Vegan foods that have good amounts of protein have carbs. So I am just wondering out of curiosity. Is it harder to cut while eating Vegan ?
I am not using any protein supplements which makes it even harder to get protein without the carbs.

It isn't really harder, but for those of us who watch carbs when dieting down, it becomes apparent that there's a fairly strong need to incorporate some protein powders and/or processed meat substitutes to keep protein high and carbs low. That's just the way it goes, those of us who are more carb-sensitive might have to work around things a bit, but it can be done.

I find it easier, I am leaner since going vegan.

Much like previously mentioned, it is pretty challenging if you are cutting carbs. Having done low carb cuts on an Omnivore, Vegetarian, and Vegan diet, I can say I personally had the most difficulty with the vegan cut. That said, it's certainly possible!

Extreme bulking is stupid in the first place, in my humble opinion. Your body doesn't need thousands of extra calories a day to build muscle, you're just going to get fat, and have to bust your ass to drop said fat afterward, risking muscle in the process.

I personally eat 250-500 kcal over my average caloric needs to maintain, and do HIIT 1 or 2 times a week which keeps me at a lean 10%.

Just another fine example of bullshit bro science.

Eat slightly over how many calories you use - muscle gain.
Eat way over how many calories you use - muscle AND fat gain.

I'm getting great cutting results right now even with 50% + calories from carbs. I just make sure I don't skimp on the protein and that my fat intake isn't any more than 30% of my calories. My little bit of baby fat has been dissappearing fast the past two months I've been on this diet. Probably faster if I was stricter with my fat percentage.

yes it's a bit harder but its absolutely doable. But I can't guarantee it if you do zero powders. I'm sure some people can... it's just not the "norm" that you can get a defined cut look without protein supplementation.

I agree with Yeti 100% on bulking and calorie consumption. I really feel that a lot of people use bulking as an excuse to just eat whatever they want and avoid cardio haha.

Floey (Devil´s Plaything) wrote an article on the low carb diet as a vegan and used it quite well in preparation for last years natural bodybuilding nationals.
