Cheapest Protein source/Powder?

Hey all,

Money is tight right now, so I cut out protein powder and I am in the middle of a mass gaining phase. Any thoughts on a cheap protein powder? I believe Trader Joe's has a Soy Protein for $10.99 and it is a large jug. Any others? Not on-line please.

I am also looking for sugar free.

Maybe just tofu?

Thanks,

Rich

Man I really miss whey protein powder. All the vegetarian protein powders are so nasty!!!!!!

A friend gave me 3 lbs of hemp protein that he didn't like. It is 18 grams a serving and tastes like a glass of mud!

Are you vegan or vegetarian? As most whey proteins are vegetarian, obviously if you were vegan then you wouldn't use it.

I tired a vegan diet for a month, using hemp & soy powders. I liked the natural taste of the hemp (also strawberry) but the texture was horrible. The soy powder was simply revolting...

Shame you guys don't have myprotein there. Such a great company

I like mixing my own pea/rice/hemp 40/30/30 or so at http://truenutrition.com/p-1126-custom-mix.aspx

But cheapest local to me would definitely be Genisoy with 25g protein and 0 carbs. I don't use soy powder much any more but at around $10 it is a good bang for buck and the numbers are good...

have you had a lot of experience with this website? it seems nearly too good to be true.

Yes I am finishing off 5 lbs. and going to order 20 lbs soon. They have a new pea/hemp/rice mix that is cheaper than blending yourself and it has a great profile. Add stevia and some flavors for free.
