Calves......

Got some great gains (even for liitle ole me) 3cms on my calves in 6 weeks (also 3cms on my chest!!!!!Put 3cms on my waist too-not usre if thats a good thing though-can't grab any fat so I suppose that may be a plus), but I'm about to change my program, and want some ideas for training calves. My gym is very, very limited we only have a standing calve raise machine. Can't do donkey raises as I don't have a training partner (guys are nuf nufs-and not one girl puts even half as much effort into their training so I'm not even going there-don't socailise when I'm training). At the moment just blasting my calves with some super sets, standing calve raises on the machine (only getting up to 160, and 35 with d/bells). Any ideas....I'd hate to get stuck when I'm just starting to make some gains -although am slowly starting to cut back on carbs so lets hope the way my body drops fat it doesn't take too much muscle with it. Can't jog @ the moment, may b anemiac (again!) so just sticking to weights, walking and belly dancing :D

cheers all!

Heres one workout you can do.

Get a barbell and get in a squat position. Do a normal calf raise and on the way back, go on the balls of your foot. This is dangerous so you have to be careful, but you may want to try it. A better explanation is here:

I would recommend that if you want to attempt this get into a power rack, set the pins just below your lowest point, then if things go wrong you wont end up with a barbell on the back of your head

Thanks guys!!!! (was looking inot the power rack-although the bar bell on the back of the head may be an approvement) I am (or was a personal trainer) am getting my certification again. Chat with a girl who's competing at the O in October-so I get my fix with her on a regular basis. Love ALL the training tips I can get my hands on.

Thanks so much :D
