ABS tips please!

#1 Postby Cristian » Sat Oct 08, 2005 11:15 am

Hy guys,

I really would like your suggestions on this one. I was born with a condition called pectus excavatum or sunken chest, with basically a "hole" in the middle of the chest.
Because of it my belly sticks out (especially if you look at me sideways); I'm not really overweight and would like to work on my abs to minimize the problem.

What's the best plan of action for abs?

Thanks!

Work on your posture.
Do exercises for the shoulder girdle, especially the rear deltoids.

For abs, do correct and slow crunches, side crunches and stretching.
Also work the rear spine stabilizing muscles.

I believe you can workout your abs as often as you like, for best results at least every other day. Make it hard and try to improve over time. Find new ways of making it harder. For the beginning, two sets on each side (left, right and front) should be enough.
There are dozens of ab exercises, but you don't really need them. Do one or two for the rectus and one or two for the sides, that's all it takes.
No one said it would be easy.
